That is COOL!!!
I'm not a musician, but I've designed sounds that others use to make music. http://soundcloud.com/obsidiananvil

It can go as slow as you like, up to freezing the audio. Not really a replacement for Paulstretch, for a starters you can only load in short clips (about long enough to say "let's get goin!"), and Icarus sounds more "synthy" than Paulstretch by default, but Icarus has a lot of things you can do, because essentially it's just a wavetable once it's resynthesized, so you can add morphing effects and mess with it in countless ways.

Works great for little snatches of breakbeat.

125 pages.. how could i miss this?

can anybody give a quick summary of this thread? drama? Dongle vs no dongle discussions? or just pure synth love?
Finally!

Post

quick summary: 50% "icarus is the best soft-synth ever" vs 50% "it's not serum so it's crap".

Everything. :hihi:

I wouldn't really go either way on that one. I think Icarus sounds fantastic and is a lot of fun to use. Admittedly, I have been spoiled by Serum's modulation handling, but it's not that big of a deal.

There is no dongle to deal with here. A bit of drama regarding the price difference between EU and US, but many of us have had no issue just paying in Euros and letting Paypal do the conversion. Mostly just synth love. :)

Yeah, must admit, it's one of the more "moderate" Tone2 synth threads. ;) More positive voices than negative ones, at least as far as i read.

Well, of course there are always small details that out of individual taste or personal habits one might like to be different, but this is objectively a great instrument :)

15 minutes of testing and not being able to save presets does not really invite me to spend so much time testing it out. Usually it takes about 4-5 hours of testing before I decide to grab it or not and I usually only get that far when I'm making and saving presets. If I have to start over every 15 minutes and don't even have the possibility to open what I've been working on previously after I purchase -- isn't that just one less incentive for me to want to buy? Just saying...
100 High Quality Soundsets: Omnisphere 2, Dune 3, Tone 2 Synths, Pigments, Uhe Synths, Halion, Spire, and others.
