If implementing future means that the whole project postpones itself into the future, we won't finish it before we run out of cash. I'd rather have this out before. Besides, we'll see how people think once they actually get hands on itdavid.beholder wrote:May be it's OK to just implement future and not care about CPU cycles? Gosh, processors are really cheap now, way cheaper than modulars or hw polysynths.

Implement future with ZDF please.Urs wrote: If implementing future means that the whole project postpones itself into the future, we won't finish it before we run out of cash.
I'm not talking about poly vs mono. Only about endless CPU consumption conversation.

I'll be happy with it as a mono synth... Diva is already an awesome poly synthUrs wrote:If implementing future means that the whole project postpones itself into the future, we won't finish it before we run out of cash. Cat out of the bag: We're contemplating (read: not promising anything) the design of a polyphonic MIDI module that can host a small number of RePros. Maybe just enough to play a chord. However this idea stands or falls with the ability to provide CV input connectivity - which is a major hassle in plug-in-land. In actual fact, it might never happen, or if it happens, maybe not in the best way we would have loved to.
So finally you don´t implement this Polyphonic Midi "host"???

Assuming RePro will play in sync with sequencer/DAW tempo, I am looking forward to trying it out (again).

Who says we don't? - Maybe we wish to develop more Repros first, provided it's a viable idea to do a Repro-DG or a Repro-DC... or that feline fella... something tells me, we shouldn't do a Four-Voice type thing without any Obie type Repro.klinik wrote:Cat out of the bag: We're contemplating (read: not promising anything) the design of a polyphonic MIDI module that can host a small number of RePros. However, seeing that this little synth took one year to develop... not sure. OTOH much of this development time went into new technologies that could be leveraged for other mono synth developments...
In other words: I'd love to, but can't promise just yet!

No worries. There won't be compromises for the sake of CPU. But we also don't want waste CPU mindlesslydavid.beholder wrote:Implement future with ZDF please.Urs wrote: If implementing future means that the whole project postpones itself into the future, we won't finish it before we run out of cash.

Well, not really if you consider the manpower, tools and experience we have. But on the other hand, we've also updated Presswerk with that project conversion tool during that time, and we've done a few other things on the side. I was just still not expecting things to be that difficult, especially not after having an "almost ready looking" alpha version half a year ago.AnX wrote:If thats from idea to release including research and testing, thats very quick.Urs wrote:

I do think it was worth it though.
