I think it is the patches played in the Youtube demo which you think sound the same. But the RAW sound of the oscs and filters is different.

To me Dune 2 has a character of the old Roland SH, with an oscillator structure like the SH-2. Love it that way and please don't change the basic sound character of the already extraordinary synth. Sometimes I'm thinking to get the SH-2 plugin, but always canceled everytime I play with Dune 2. May be one day I'll get it for the interface and authenticity. But for what I need right now, Dune 2 is more than enough. If I should choose between the two, it's absolutely Dune 2, no turning back. It just has that hypnotic-magical sound that I won't live without.

As mentioned earlier in this thread the VST/AU page is a template and not final. So yes, it lists the specs for Dune 2 and not The Legend.
No, i mean by the sound from youtube demo.
yes I think two things are in play: KS demoing and maybe some of the presets do have a more modern twist on it.... like a pimped out 1970 Mercedes Benz Classic (why oh why)

Yes, i really love the KS patches in Dune2. For me they belong to the best patches in general which comes with a synth.
But i wanted to hear more the cinematic side rather than EDM here.
But i read that it comes with 500 patches?
Looking forward.
I said to me that i just will buy one more plug-in this year. This could be a candidate if it really offers me a lot beyond Dune 2.
Not sure yet.
Im not sure a minimoog emu is going to offer you 'a lot beyond Dune 2'

You will get a minimoog emulation, nit an 8 layer synth with all the trimmings.

Two very diff beasts
Well, i don't know too until i can test it :)
I don't care about what they emulate since i never used the original.
I just mean if it offers a really unique character and/or new way to create sounds i can't come "close" with Dune 2.
I think the only emulation from a vintage synth i own is the Moog Model 15 app and i also never heard or owned the original.
But it sound just awesome (almost better in some areas than all my desktop stuff) and can sound unique compared to my other stuff and has a fantastic playability due to extended midi options, audio in/out etc.
I wished they do plug-ins one day. But it's not their way.
I'm still up for one of those "emulations" as plug-in for this year.
So The Legend, RePro One....? Different beasts as well i think :)

Although I admire Kevin Schröder and his sound design/musical skills a great deal I don't think his demo really did full justice to The Legend. He tends to do more modern stuff and while Legend is obviously capable of such sounds I think it's ability to emulate a real Moog Model D is it's major selling point.........

I saw you are also mentioned in the manual for patches! :)
What i like is the (mainly) one window thing without a lot tabbing.
3 osc and 4 voices sounds good too so far.
I just hope the GUI is bigger as Dune2 or is resizable!

Yeah which made me think that that was another pressing reason for his comment on the Perimeter soundbank, named after and inspired by him... (I kid, I kid)

From what I heard, i think the Legend is more round (smoother) than Monark but more aggressive than Diva's moog. So, I feel it nearer to the real thing, as many songs from the late 70's and early 80's sound.

I expect it to be a no brainer to buy, but I must control myself because currently I'm selling what I can to upgrade my monitors (and here they are expensive, about the double price as in the US). So, mostly I will revisit it after one month or so!

Great idea really especially with the magic of low cpu. I hope Richard continue with his marvelous synths :)
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

Maybe he will. I think Richard has said in the past that if Legend is successful, he will keep doing these little, focused emulations of other hardware synths. Legend is a great achievement and should sell relatively well. It is top quality stuff. What's not to like?

Geez...Between the release of the Expanse Hyperwave Synth a few weeks ago and then this beast, Reason users have a lot to be excited about. The RE game has been looking strong and it will be cool to see what else is on the way. You guys at Synapse did a hell of a job on this one
Windows 10 PC. Reason. Cubase. Waveform. Reaper. Studio One Pro. Epiphone Les Paul Pro II. Nektar Panorama t4. Yamaha RBX Bass. Faderport 2. Eris E5 Monitors. SSL2 Interface. Audient Evo 4. AKG C214. Aston Origin. MXL 990.

Now, that's very generous.

I would love to get this in VST as well. Hopefully Synapse can offer a discount.
We plan to make the crossgrade free of charge, just send us your PH invoice as proof of purchase once the VST is out :)

monark is as round if not more than the mini it have been modelled on from the audio comparaison, but less punchy attack and more muddy sound,it s hard to judge from these audio demo as programing is involved and offcourse it s easy to program one slighty better if it's possible.. but to me it seems monark sound is more similar to B on the example of the legend vs the mini .

If the RE is € 99 and there's a free cross grade to the VST, I assume € 99 is the VST/AU price ?
