That is my guess/hope too.. else I might just have to buy the damn RE version :-)

Oh? I never owned a minimoog, so my judgement depends on the yesteryear glory of the 80's songs that I still listening to them.
So, is the real minimoog is more aggressive than Monark? I always had the acoustic image of a very round and smooth sound of the minimoog, but fat and juicy!

Now, that's very generous.

We plan to make the crossgrade free of charge, just send us your PH invoice as proof of purchase once the VST is out :)

Oh wow! I wish now I've never sold my license of Reason!
This will serve Reason's popularity and success at the same time, if other developers would make free crossgrade I believe.
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

Yorrrrrr wrote:Maybe he will. I think Richard has said in the past that if Legend is successful, he will keep doing these little, focused emulations of other hardware synths. Legend is a great achievement and should sell relatively well. It is top quality stuff. What's not to like?
This is nice to hear :) I wish him success so that he can bring other gems to us ;)

If this is what they are doing then BRAVO! I have always thought that RE versions of VST should be free as long as you own one.

One of the biggest woes, in my opinion, is when devs sell a separate VST version or Windows vs OS X etc. once you buy a "license" you should be able to access it anywhere.

Hmm gonna share my open opinion about this emulation after checking the comparisom with hardware and the demo by KS.

Simply to put it doesnt sound convincing to me. Now a bit more why i think is that. I dont own real minimoog, but i own monark wich by comparisons and reviews is like a real deal in terms of sound. Even to my ear Monark sounds very very convincing in general from a sound. It has organic sound, depth in it. It feels like its a live instrument when you hear it.

Actually now i watched a review of Monark and im not the only one who thinks that

And the problem for me with Synapse Emulation, i cannot hear that, it sounds like very good sounding software virtual analog synthesizer. There is nothing wrong with it but it does not convince me its a real deal. Add to that for example U-He Hive does not even trying to be any emulation or analog instrument, but virtual instrument, but it feels so much more real, alive, what you can hear in Monark.

Actually after listening to amazing Monark patch rework on Sytrus by Nucleon https://www.dropbox.com/s/izhpsec7woygc ... g.mp3?dl=0 i would say at least for now this emu is no better then Sytrus :)

Now this is not a moog, but upcoming Pro 1 emulation, now this is convincing, it feels "real".

not really agressive, the hardware has just a more punchy atttack and more detailed sound from the demo of monark vs mini it was modelled on ,thickness and roundness both are very close.
i think 1 so it s supposed to be the synapse, is closer to this punch and details, just some guess from the demos

Well you think taht Monark is a better reference than a real Mini?

Richard at Synapse had the chance to sue two different real Minis which is how he implemented the "Early/Late" switch in the advacned settings to represent early and later revisions of the Mini.

Monark is great on it'S own but IMO it is wrong to see it as the "ultimate reference".

FWIW i had owned a real Minimoog Model D but that is alraedy 11 years ago now.

Personally as i got both Monark and The Legend i have no need to ever buy a real Mini again (including the new version taht was released recently). Those two are the "benchmarks" in Minimoog emulations and it seems to be hard to get something better in the future. Anyway in multiple aspects The Legend seems to be superior and maybe it is even more authentic in certain parts.

Besides the Drive (actually it seems to be iike Overload) found at the main GUI which could be used to make the soudn more aggressive the advanced options besides teh switch for teh 2 models offers options to tweak teh Oscs and the filter further if you like. There is also an option to add more saturation to the Amp there.

I'd agree with you here Ingo.

There is nothing wrong not owning it and expressing the opinion about the emulation. I dont care how close to Minimoog synth does sound to be honest. Im not saying that Monark is ultimate reference to Moog emulation, i just express the feeling i get, the sound i hear. And even patches may sound close from The Legend, but the sound itself is not. And not that its not like Moog, but it lacks the depth, the "realnes" in the sound (sorry cant think of any other word), the presence. Tho i may be wrong, its only few patches.
