It obviously should be ResQ, you know, like rescue.Urs wrote:We wanted small, simple and powerful. So it was stomp box style. So we needed fun names. Interesting. Jaws Wavefolder? Lyrebird? What are those?

Well, I think the names should be like stomp box names: Big Muff, Carbon Copy, Tube Screamer, Small Stone. They're often funny IMHO.
It's pure coincidence that Jaws and Lyrebird are animal names.
The working title of the Limiter is "Sonic Conditioner", but it's a tad too long.

Hehehe, we're striving for consistency. The logo needed the ~ in there because it's Repro-1, not Repro1, and the logo on the hardware Pro-One reads like Pro~One too.spunkmuffin wrote:And sorry but I don't like the new 'Repro 1' lettering. The old lettering with the square around the 1 was way better. Lol you had the GUI just right most of the way then you mess it all up right at the end. That's stoopid sorry.
As for the light - it was distracting. Once you work with this thing you'll be grateful that it's been toned down.
It's not a big deal for anyone with basic Photoshop knowledge to bring it back though.

Another suggestion for the limiter might be "fence" as nothing gets passed it

Well I worked with Repro Alpha which had a lovely texture, colour an angled lighting highlight across it and did not find it distracting. Did you? Nobody complained about it in the Alpha thread.Urs wrote:As for the light - it was distracting. Once you work with this thing you'll be grateful that it's been toned down.
And when you posted the RePro-1 GUI there a week or so ago a few people said they loved it in that thread. I notice nobody has said they love this one yet.
I doubt it. You've taken that big diagonal highlight right out. It's lost some character...and it sounds full of character!Urs wrote:It's not a big deal for anyone with basic Photoshop knowledge to bring it back though.

If you keep Lyrebird right next to Jaws she might get eaten.

I like the new version better... cleaner and easier on the eyes.spunkmuffin wrote:Well I worked with Repro Alpha which had a lovely texture, colour an angled lighting highlight across it and did not find it distracting. The only tiny thing I would change is I would make a simple dash in RePro-1

While i was in another thread on this theme i ask me now if Repro-1 will get 14bit midi support (like some of your other tools) for ALL parameters.
I think it's still a rare requested feature but for me a must for a synth which is emulated within the finest nuances.

How about this, in Repro-1 slant the '1' to the right like it was slanted. Bring back the box around the '1' and make it cut through the centre of the hyphen. So the left half of the hyphen will be outside the box and the right half will be in the box. Then colour the left half light and the right half dark.
You need more diagonals in the design. There are too many horizontals and verticals. That makes it look visually uptight. Your designer knew this & that's why he put that strong diagonal highlight in and the slanted 1. Unfortunately you blew the whistle and took out his good work.
Then you included even more horizontals and verticals with the boxy stompboxes.
You reduced the colour in the main panel and the 2 wood side panels to better match the girly pastel colours of the stompboxes. Now the whole thing looks a bit more girly - which I like! But is that what you really want?
The stompboxes are all to one side, so the pastel colours are all to one side...which makes the GUI look a bit...lopsided.
Your problem!
Also there is a lot of colour on the bottom and not much on the top...but you know that.
Yes I realise you can close the effects tab so you don't see the lovely pastels. When you do that however you are left with a more bland Repro because you have drained some of the colour out to match the stompboxes which are no longer visible.
