I'd like to see (and hear) all sorts of "Bass to ya Face" banks...

Hello everyone. I'm not a synth programmer, but I'm looking to learn how to make my own synth sounds for composing progressive rock songs. I believe most of the prog guys like Rick Wakeman in the 70's used a lot of Moogs for their leads. Can Repro-1 do this type of sound, and would be a good investement in learning how to program these type of synth sounds? Or should I go with a moog emulation? (PM me if you feel this derails this thread.)

All you need to be a synth programmer is the ability to:
1. hear
and...
2. twiddle knobs
If you can do those 2 things you will be able to make some fairly nutso sounds with Repro. Just try the demo. Do it!

Wakeman used the Minimoog a lot, and there's a new one out from another company with some Wakeman presets included so if that's just you're thing, you could certainly look there. The Pro-1, which this models, can approximate most of the 2 oscillator sounds of the Minimoog (the Mini has 3, the third of which doubles as an LFO), but the Pro-1 can do a lot more in terms of modulation capabilities. You couldn't go wrong with either or both IMO.InsertNameHere wrote:Hello everyone. If you want Moog sounds, use a Moog emu. If you want Rick Wakeman sounds, get MiniMonsta. He programmed a ton of his own patches on it himself.InsertNameHere wrote:Hello everyone. This is great sounding software, musical, beautifull, with great effects, and let's call it an analog sound.
I don't know if it's the same as the original and I don't care, it's an awesome synth.
works flawless in cubase, but it crashes my akai VIP software.
other U-he plugins don't crash VIP.
with an apogee interface and akai advance VIP, U-he plugins feel like real instruments.

I'm up to 35 presets. This new batch includes some drums and percussion. Have at 'em!

I tried hard, but I am still not able to reproduce this, neither on Mac nor on Windows.simonfloris wrote:Actually I just want to use the arp,
I'm playing a chord with the initial patch, change the arp to up,and i see the leds in the keyboard bar changing, but that's all.
I only hear a constant pitched -note.
There are no new notes triggered (pitch is not changing and envelopes are not retriggered).
Which OS and DAW host are you using? And could you maybe save a preset where this happens and post it here? I would like to check how it works if I try the same preset.

LOL, you've totally nailed it! I dislike the sound of your software 3320 about as much as I dislike the real thing, LOL! Seriously great job, it really does sound like all of the CEM synths that I've sold off. I'm probably the only guy on this forum who doesn't regret selling his rev 3 P5.
I like the effects though. I'm torn on this one, I might have to get it before the end of the year, but, if I'm honest, it's just because it sets a benchmark, not because I like the sound.
