Or simply ditch the standard version completely and charge 109 Euros for the Pro version.

Yes, He's very good at not answering questions. :)

And thanks for another useless (pay for) update...
Just read his last comment here.. priceless..
It just gets better every time! :tu: :D
I will take the Lord's name in vain, whenever I want. Hail Satan! And his little goblins too.

Well.. Maybe someday I need it that much. For now I'll manage with discovery :)
I'll sort out a discount for Discovery customers next month.

I'm sorry, but that doesn't make sense to me !

I assume the 6.7 update is paid and is required to be eligible for the free 7.0 upgrade?

The mind boggles!

Post

The upgrade path right now is:

5 or below: paid update (more than two years time frame).
6 to 6.5: paid update (two year time frame).
6.6 has been free for 6.5 as well as the incoming 6.7 will.
Now for 7, which is still planned, will probably be free for 6.5 and above and paid for 6.4 and below.

Any changes will be announced with enough time.

Hope that makes it clear :) Perhaps 6.5 could have been released as 7 to avoid confusions :)

Ok, thanks for clarifying, George.

I have 6.6, so I'm good :)

mladi wrote:Hello George!

I read here that 7 will be free for 6.4 users as well? A few weeks back purchasing of the update (29€) was disabled in your shop now it's back again. I don't get the idea behind to be honest that's why I asked. Thank you in advance!
Still no response to my question. Because of the current 40% off sale (updates not included in the sale) i bump it again.
The paid update was placed for people who couldn't wait until release 7 but nothing has changed. 7 will be free for 6.x users.
So has this now changed from your last post? when I initially purchased discovery pro I thought it was cool, but with your wonky way of doing stuff I have just decided to never bother about upgrading my Discovery Pro.... maybe sound business sense and customer support and proper upgrade path and notmaking your current customer base not feel milked or conned then everything might just bring you credibility and you might find that us as your current customer will actually help you promote your products :?

So the goal posts have shifted again. If people had known this more would have bought the 6.5 update, not with every little addition it gets more expensive (even though these are not even supposedly 'paid' updates). At least put updates on sale in a fair way this time to make up for this (ie last time updates went on 'sale' the price of them went up first so it was no sale at all).

You have to follow their "logic". With every small 0.1 update the price increase for 6.4 owners. If you bought the update when it was from 6.4 to 6.5 it been 19€. Now from 6.4 to 6.6 it's 29€ (doesn't matter that from 6.5 to 6.6 is free). Makes sense?

About the new turn that 6.x (now even 6.5 users probably) will not get a free 7 update: For me that was clear right from the start. This dev had a serious problem. He should stop talking rubbish to his customers.
Whoever wants music instead of noise, joy instead of pleasure, soul instead of gold, creative work instead of business, passion instead of foolery, finds no home in this trivial world of ours.

Murnau please stop. I will find a way to solve this mess.

If you put the upgrade on a fair sale, without increasing the price first, I will get back on board and be happy. 6.4 has a serious stereo bug that only got fixed in 6.5 so I do want to be able to upgrade but at the moment the barriers to doing so keep increasing.

Post

Ummm, when I enquired a while back about upgrading from 6.4 to 6.6, George said that I may as well just wait as the upgrade to 7 for 6.x would be free, now it is only if I had passed 6.5.

To be honest, I think I'm done with this crap (DiscoDSP that is)

Thanks, seems like a good option.

Sorry about that, I have to leave things as they are for now, PM or e-mail me and we can talk privately thanks.

There will be a sale for existing customers next month.
