Hi there,
Here's my submission for round 2.
I tried to fix/alter the ambience on the lead vocal, the kick presence, reverb on drumbreak, intensified the echo on the vocal break and lifted lowmids on some groups.

Hi Guys,
Here is my submission for Round 2!
https://www.dropbox.com/s/c559oxs7mp1eo ... 2.mp3?dl=0
I Fixed the panning of the Pad at the end and also played a bit with the break to give it more personality.
I also gave a little more volume to the lead vox.!
That's it!! Hope you like!

Thank you Vivolator for your detailed feedback!
In fact, my high mid range was a bit weird. Too much hurry, too less reference hearing I guess.
I took all your comments and made the corrections. I hope it is an clear improvement now.

Thanks for the review and the compliments ^^ I heard something dance-like in that song, so I aimed my mix toward mainstream edm, so it is great it made you think about katy perry or the likes
resume of what changed :
I automated the kick to make it blend better with the different parts
boosted the voice
added grit on the chorus bass
softened the sidechain on the ending guitar
reverb eqed and send levels adjusted
a bit of eq here and there
i lowered the delay on the voice at the end
a bit of mic/room noise cleaned on the main voice at the beginning, sadly there is still a bit at the very beginning but it is too late to fix :p
a bit of saturation on the kick, pad, overall mix
pulse basse eq slightly changed
lowered volume of the hats, toms, and a few adjustments here and there ^^
added an fx on the break (a bit like gated reverb I hope )

Hi everyone,
Thanks again for sticking it out for round 2. I may not be able to get back to my listening environment before this weekend, so I apologize in advance for any delays. At the moment, it will be a little difficult to find some quiet time for me until things die down a bit here in Park City, but I will plan on getting it done as soon as time allows.
Looking forward to hearing everybody's entries,
STV/Vivolator

Short update...
Since we haven't heard from the "client" for a couple of days, I reached out via KVR PM.

Another update:
Got feedback by the client. He is sending apologies for the lack of silence due to work and unforeseen health issues. He promised to respond ASAP once he's back to better shape again.
Again, thank you for your patience.

Hi everyone,
First of all, my apologies for the wait and thank you for your patience. The local cold and flu season did finally hit me after all (I was hoping to avoid getting sick this year, but no luck). At the moment, I'm still a little out of it, but I didn't want you guys to have to wait any longer, so here's the final rankings:
1. PG Mix
2. Photonic
3. MWaudioproductions
4. Dave McIsaac
5. Davias
There was a great deal of shuffling around going on during the listening process. I listened for overall mix clarity and feel, arrangement and FX choices, and how well the mix translated to other systems. At the end, the one that hit the most sweet spots for me was PG Mix's version. Congratulations! To everyone who took part: Thank you, and well done! I heard lots of things that I liked, and this was not an easy result to come by.
(My brain is still a little foggy, so I'll keep this post short, but if anyone wants to discuss their mix and compare notes, please feel free to PM me and I'll go into some detail about my decision making process.)
Again, a big "Thank You!" to everyone involved, including the creators. If people can stand it, I might throw something else into the ring at a future point (that is, if there are no objections).
Cheers to all,
STV/Vivolator

Thank you for the announcement, bstageboss, and congratulations to the winners.
We proceed with the usual-usual. Please select your desired license (first come, first serve), mention it here in the forum, then contact either me (for Nyrv Systems and Two Notes) or satyatunes (everything else) with your contact data.
All five winners can select one license.
