Hi all!

Some time ago I bought Stormgate3 and DKS Pro. Now I need to download the installers but here is what happens:

1) I can successfully login into araldfx website so that I can see my downloads marked in red;
2) I click on the link [Click to enable the download];
3) [Click to enable the download] disappears;
4) I click on the link to download my software;
5) what I get is this: "Forbidden
You do not have permission to access this document.
Web Server at araldfx.com:
6) after that, sometimes, clicking on the back arrow of the browser brings up this: "Attempted to activate an active ticket". But sometimes not...

Does anyone know what I doing wrong here? I already wrote to Aldo but no reply for now.

Thank for your help!

The company is dead. All you can hope for is that Aldo might get back to you personally. Good luck Jim. :hihi:

Yes I know, I wrote him 3 times but no answer. On the website he wrote:
"The AraldFX download area is going to remain active and we will be supporting and updating our products as well!"
Well, I don't expect any update but at least a working download area for legit customers who want to use the software thay paid for or, if download area is not working, a reply to their emails.

I feel bad for you. Well from now on, do what I do. Get yourself two 8gb USB sticks and back up all of your software and software updates on those. I use the 2 sticks as a redundant backup system in case one drive fails. The best would be DVD, but I stopped doing that because it was not only a pain in the ass to save all updates, but it was also wasteful to reburn a new DVD every time I had to save. Start today with what you have now, and never go through this pain and suffering ever again.

I tried that once. Unfortunately, even using dual redundant 2 TB discs, they've filled up so quickly, I'm finding I'm having to add larger drives - and they're not happy being plugged into an external powered USB strip, so I play swap-a-disk quite a lot. I also slough off all the little sample libraries (>4GB) on to DVDs. Piles of them. These sample-based library VSTs are becoming unwieldily.

I'm sorry. I wasn't clear. What I meant was backing up your VSTs and serials which take up very little space so you don't have this type of problem anymore. :wink:

Hi Orbit-50!
That's a very good tip and that's what I usually do. But I was musically inactive for a couple of years and I missed to download the latest versions when AraldFX was still alive. I never had them on my harddisk. In the meanwhile I have a new computer and I am doing music again; I need DKS PRO and Stormgate3 to open old projects for a customer who asked me to remix 6 tracks made with those plugins (he didn't do a track bounce so we don't have the audio files). When he asked me if I can do it I told him "no problem" because I knew I have all plugins he used. Of course now I feel quite embarassed with him...

Aldo just wrote me: he fixed the issue on the website and I could download the installers :-)
I want to say "Thank you" to Aldo for being there even if AraldFX is not in business anymore. I really really appreciate!

That is good to hear. I know Aldo was ill when I last heard from him.

I hope you are well Aldo!

Still using DKSpro here.

Google Drive is your friend for this. I back up to an external HDD AND also use Google Drive, except if the installer is huge (recently bought Quadrant - don't fancy backing up 1.5GB of installer online).

There's so many online storage providers (Onedrive, dropbox) you're spoiled for choice.

...and also still using DKS Pro. Lots of love for it here :D

Definitely save all installers to a harddrive as a backup. I even keep older versions, just to be sure. I even double backup everything. What are an extra 100 bucks for just 2 USB harddrives, when you run into such a situation :wink:
