I also prefer the filter configuration of the J8, the same as on the Juno. The additional HPF is useful. Somehow I never use BPF or HPF on a synth, even when they are there.

Will check out the Jupiter sound in Diva, which I think I still have, the demo that is :hihi:

The guy in the video only used two saws judging from the lights. There is some ripping character to the sound, rough but not in a negative way. It's hard to recreate on plugins somehow :P
Those are the modules in Diva to recreate a Jupiter 8 or Jupiter 6 (additional HPF in series usable for both):
A) Jupiter 8:
- "Dual VCO" (Jupiter 8 could only use a single waveform at once)
- "HPF Pre" (= simple non resonant Highpass filter located before the LPF)
- VCF "Cascade" (= 24dB and 12dB Lowpass)
- "analog" ADSR Envelope module for Amp and VCF

B) Jupiter 6:
- "Dual VCO" (Jupiter 6 could use multiple or all waveforms at once using the buttons)
- "HPF Pre" (= simple non resonant Highpass filter located before the multimode filter)
- VCF "Multimode" (= 24dB Lowpass, 12dB Lowpass, Highpass, Bandpass)
- "digital" ADSR Envelope module for Amp and VCF

The "C" buttons in the digital ADSR envelope seems to activate a different shape/curve that might be useful.

UPDATE:
An Eurorack module called JOVE by the developer System80 that is inspired by the Jupiter-6 multimode filter is available now.
Here is a demo video:

The 12dB LPF mode seems to based on that in Jupiter-8, not the Jupiter 6. Not sure how far this is similar in the 12dB LPF in the multimode module of Diva as Diva alraedy has a dedicated Jupiter 8 filter ("Cascade" module).

This is a video about another DIY Jupiter-6 based multimode filter, again in Eurorack format:

2 demos of the real Jupiter-6 by the same developer:

UPDATE:
At the beginning of this video you see Urs from U-He playing a Juno-60 and on top of that there is his Jupiter-6:

Last year besides many other patches i created a certain Synh Brass patch with my monophonic real analog Novation Bass Station 2 that has a quite complex synth engine (actually more complex than many more expensive synths) while that specific patch itself was not very complex indeed.

While currently trying to recreate that patch in softsynths and also have the option to paly it polyphonic i also used Diva. It turned out that the Jupiter 6 modules mentioened in my post above in Diva seem to be the best match to the sound and feature set of the Bass Station 2 (while still multiple features of the Bass Station 2 are missing to reacreate all patches posible there).

Here is a screenshot of the patch recreated in Diva:

Before that i also did an attempt to do this in the Roland Jupiter-8 plugin:

Compared to the patch in this plugin i would even call the Diva patch "light on CPU"... :o

To find a plugin that has the sound quality, the basic sound and all the features of the Bass Station 2 is not a simple task. Especially the multimode filter of the BS2 with 7 modes (including the Acid diode ladder LPF mode and 6 transistor ladder filter modes with 2xLPF, 2xBPF and 2xHPF) is hard to fully replicate.
Bass Station 2 has a 24dB BPF and 24dB HPF mode that is very rare with vintage analog synths, especially polysynths. The Matrix-12 and the corresponding Arturia emulation got a 24dB BPF and a 18dB HPF mode.
Usually a dedicated BPF is done from splitting a 24dB filter into a 12dB LPF and a 12dB HPF which results in a 12dB BPF.

The new Novation Peak desktop synth seems to be an option to get a polyphonic version of the Bass Station 2 filter as the filter there seems to be similar while the Oscs are done in a different way (fully digital so called NCOs, not DCOs that are still mostly analog with digital control signals to keep the Oscs in tune).
Here is a picture of the circuit board of the Bass Station 2:
http://www.bcaudio.co/web_images/bs2-4.jpg

The HPF in the Jupiter 8 and Juno-60 is a simple non-resonant filter (only a Cutoff fader available) that could not be modulated so doing modulation like with a dedicated resonant BPF is not really possible.
The Korg MS-20 has fully featured seperate and resonant LPF and HPF filters that get much closer to a dedicated BPF (or maybe this way is even a superior approach).

I think you should increase the amp attack a bit, like value 10 or so.
I find it odd that Diva has such a rough stepping on the osc detune knob (without keeping Shift pressed, that is), from 0 to .4 is quite a step, whatever that means in cents. With your patch .1 sounds good to me.
Same with the LFO rate, the value doesn't tell me anything.

So my experience with Roland Cloud is not so good. Have to re-authorize all synths every time I open Studio one. Akai VIP doesn't recognize cloud instruments at all in Concerto or by themselves. Concerto shows no synths in Cubase Pro 9, Studio One, Logic Pro X and Digital Performer 9. Fifty percent of the time the Authorization server can't be connected to (I have a 300 mbps internet connection) . Whoever was the project manager/product owner for this Roland cloud service should be replaced and probably was already as the SIT and UAT testing looks to be very minimally completed. Even in Beta the basic connection and authorization test cases should have passed.
The synths all sound great - really good emo's but take about twice as much CPU as TAL and Korg, Three times the CPU of Sylenth1 and 25% more CPU than DIVA. Since the instruments do sound great, I may just get the System 8 and avoid this poorly implemented cloud nonsense all together.

Until last week i did not really have a problem in Live 9.7.3 64-bit and Windows 10 64-bit but in the last few days i had to re-enter the account pasword almost every time i re-started the host and opened the Roland plugins. No clue why this happened in the last few days. Funny thing is i just re-started the host and currently alla plugin seem to work properly again. Guess i would have to wait until it happens again until i contact support.

Anyway i bought the subscription mostly for the D-50 plugin and since i paid the subscription for the second time around two weeks ago i rarely used the D-50 plugin. Possible that i cancel the subscription soon.
Overall for two months i paid around 34 € so far (no extra tax and fees involved with the original price).
Of course i will backup my custom banks/patches for those plugins (stored in *.bin bank files) if i need them again later.

As Jupiter-8 replacements Arturia Jup-8 V3 and Diva still are good options anyway even if the Roland plugin might be a bit better sound wise. Those 2 are also not almost killing my CPU like the Roland Jupiter 8 plugin does.

I am still in the month trial mode and even though I own TAL UNO LX I am mostly interested in the Juno 106. I also don't mind cloud subscriptions as I have enjoyed Eventide and East west for years without any issues.

Since i posted this yesterday the authorization seems to work properly without having to re-authorize the Roland plugins again. Let's see if it happens again soon.

UPDATE:
Damn, just a few minutes ago checked with Roland Jupiter-8 and it was OK but now after just starting the D-50 plugin the problem is back.
Now it's even worse and i get a message "no response from authorozation service". :x
My internet connection seesm to work properly at the moment.

UPDATE:
After re-starting the host authorization worked again. Since some days the authorization seems to be far from being rock solid here...

Ask.Audio have a big contest on now and all entries get a 2-month Roland Cloud subscription.

You need to register an account at Ask.Audio to enter.

I've been complaining about the basic subscription plan for some time, and at least it seems that Roland is starting to do it right. Will East West and others follow suit?
I'm referring to the "Ours" program. So after 12 months of membership (consecutive or not) you get a free vst. All sub plans need to do this. I have no desire to pay for a sub for one, two, or three or more years (spending thousands of dollars) and having nothing to show for. The "ours" programs is a bit of a hybrid of the "rent-to-own" and "rent-to-use" system. While I do prefer the rent-to-own system of Serum on Splice, I do understand that not every developer can be so generous/patient, and needs to make a long-term, sustainable income. What better way to do that than a sub plan?

From the site:
With thousands of options for software synths to choose from, and messy trial versions that last 10 days, then limit their features and can be difficult to uninstall, shopping for your next sounds can be uninspiring, and even frustrating at times. Like you, we're producers, musicians and composers, and because you've shared your want for such a program, we've designed "YOURS"- the new loyalty program available exclusively to our subscribers.
I laughed pretty hard at this given how shitty their service is.

Roland cloud produces tons of lag for video games, I reported it, their answer? Turn off roland cloud. Why their software has to cause so much latency in the first place? As their plugins it is not optimized.
Think of it this way: purchasing a premium software synthesizer outright might cost between $200 and $300. With YOURS, the roughly $240 you pay per year for a basic Roland Cloud membership allows you to try full versions of EVERYTHING in our collection for 12 months, then pick your favorite to keep; the perfect "try before you buy"! And, the offer repeats for each year of your membership!
Maybe they should look in to the costs of their own plugouts?

I just bought a System 8 and I am using my free moth to test all plugouts, BTW they remain in the synth even if you turn it off unlike the Demo of the full versions from the contecnt store, so far I can't see enough value. The quality of the plug ins is low, yeah the sound is great in the ACB ones but the GUI, preset browser and CPU optimization are horrible. At most I would pay 10 USD per motnh if their products were better.

I really hope Ni gets their own sub service and crushes this arrogant guys from Roland Cloud with their far superior products.

This must be the worst music making product ever conceived. Who the hell developed all that overpriced cr@p? Most likely some committee of corporate suits and bean counters but most certainly not someone with passion for music making. It's like they said to themselves: "How can we make the worst possible user experience and most annoy anyone using our product but at the same time nickel and dime maximum amount of money out of them"? And then they came up with Roland Cloud.

And it most definitely has the worst ever and most annoying copy protection I have ever encountered. I would not put up with this even if they would be giving it away for free.

Generous...when you only need 2 e-mails for 2 free months already. (to test the beta)
I hope these two months count for the "get one synth after one year"..

(But still.. we need both. Normal Shop and Cloud. (or only shop, no cloud)
I cannot support it..as it is.

Please no.

Also, has anyone not yet seen the obvious mockery available in the subscription name "YOURS"?

As in... "UP YOURS", consumers.

IMHO if there is one company which may be worth for me to use a sub service is NI given their product range and constant releases. Instead of waiting for the next Komplete Release they could charge 100 anually and get access to the stuff as it is released.
