What other drum machines signature kits are most used in addiction to 808 and 909?

For what genre are asking?
Roger Linn's drum sounds were all over Pop hits by Prince (and many others) in the '80s. The Oberheim DMX and E-mu Drumulator, Drumulator II and (most importantly) SP-12 were all over Rap and Hip-Hop hits in the late-'80s.

Don't forget the Sequential Cirquits 'Drumtraks'. It was not as popular as the DMX and LM-1, but still used quite a lot!

The Yamaha DX7? That was a synth. And while it could make drum-like sounds, you almost never see any sample packs of the sounds, because they're not as punchy and drum-like as they should be.sfxsound3 wrote:DX7

Thank you. Basically I am looking for basic signature sounds that every "producer" must know, and not a specific genre.
So let's recap: 606, 707, 808, 909, DMX, LM-1, Drumulator SP-12.

Don't forget the Linndrum (sometimes incorrectly referred to as LM-2). That was on so many songs. The LM-1 was not as omnipresent, though is worthy of your list. Many people associate the LM-1 with Prince because he used the f**k out of it.mementus wrote:Thank you. Well, there's certainly no arguing with that--especially since he provided no proof, and no one else mentions using the DX7 for drums.sfxsound3 wrote:Bullshitplanetearth wrote:The Yamaha DX7?
