Oxe FM. Pretty traditional FM but have waveforms beyond sine waves so can make a great variety of harsher and metallic sounds if thats what you need.

u-he Bazille may not have as many operators but makes up for it in routing and modulation possibilites. Disclaimer: Have only used BeatZille but love it.

Big Tick Rhino has 6 operators and a lot of functions beyond FM. Can also resynthesize any given sound and use it in additive synthesis.

It was a serious suggestion until I noticed he said ... no Sytrus. Then it became a joke. Now it is an embarrassment. I humbly apologize for any upset this may have caused. I disavow my own suggestion.

JuceOPL. Basic sure, and not 6 OPs, but its quite flexible and it sounds great. I use it all the time. It also has an Additive setting and Drum mode. Also it has about 6 or so waveforms, not just the standard sine waveform. Oh and its free!
Also would recommend OXE FM, Sytrus, Bazille/Beatzille, Dexed.

Oxe operator feedback is 'pre' envelope ( the amplitude envelope doesn't influence the feedback amount , which it should.mehum wrote:Oxe FM. Pretty traditional FM but have waveforms beyond sine waves so can make a great variety of harsher and metallic sounds if thats what you need.

The feedback should be POST envelope.
So it's impoosible to go from saw ---> sine with just 1 operator ..and a decaying envelope
A real shame ,since you can't get that dx behaviour .
If I would know how to contact the developer , I would let him know .
