A brand new range of official Throbbing Gristle endorsed Gristleizer Eurorack modules are currently in the works - these are being designed by the original designer Roy Gwinn, Future Sound Systems and Chris Carter

I feel like I should be excited about this, but it really does nothing for me. I love TG, but the Gristleizer doesn't do anything I can't do already in modular. It seems like this would only sell because of the cultural associations.

I find this announcement curious...

I have the Eurorack Gristleizer that was released a couple years ago, also developed with the assistance of Mr. Carter.

I have to say, I love the module. It takes any signal and twists/mangles it in all sorts of great funky ways. Anything you put into it is unrecognizable when it comes back out. I probably use it on half my modular patches, especially those created with my chaos generator.

Looking at this new set of modules, I'm not sure I could justify the amount of hp required (just to clarify, the pic shows two full sets, but still...). I understand they've added a lot of new functionality and the ability to tap into parts of the circuit that weren't available before. The Euro module I have is much closer to the original design, with a similar number of knobs and jacks. I'm going to stick with that.

Ive got a couple of Gristleizer PCBs kicking about, I really should try and track down the parts. Think it was the charge-pump IC that was the hard one to find.
my other modular synth is a bugbrand

could be the push I need to start a eurorack :hihi:

Watched Chris Carter demo them at Synthfest and they look neat with the lightning bolts. If I do ever go down the eurocrack hole I'll have to have at least one just for that.
