Anyone still use SampleTron or Samplemoog?

Just curious if anyone else still uses these old IK libraries inside of ST3.
I find them quite entertaining especially if run through other effects.

I still use SampleTron. Since Mellotrons are lofi anyway, it still sounds great to me.

My grandpa had some sort of Tron when I was growing up in the early 80s (no idea what) and these sounds sets remind me of it the most.
Like I said, can be pretty fun running through Replika or some Guitar Rig effects!
Also, it seems like the last few times Wags got attacked in some topic for complaining about the gui, two pages later most people think it is an issue...
I forgot how many presets STron and SMoog actually come with! Time to have some old school fun!

I haven't made the jump to Syntronic yet... Can't decide if I want to.

If you have Sampletank 3, you don't need to to make use of the new filters, as they have been rolled into the latest Sampletank 3. There are also two new effects, so the expanded possibilities vs the old Sampletron are pretty substantial.dandezebra wrote:I haven't made the jump to Syntronic yet... Can't decide if I want to.

Thanks for the info as I actually haven't played around in ST3 for a little while. That will make my next hour on the computer way more fun!
I'm still trying to figure out if Syntronic is worth it... $150. 68 jam points. Hmmmmmm

SampleTron is full of inspiring sounds, and plays really nicely with the free version of ST3. It usually finds its way into most of my projects, and can add interesting texture when layered with less lo-fi sounds. The Fiona Brion patch stacked with a good glockenspiel, for instance, is quite lovely. And pretty much every patch in the "vintage fx" folder is memorable, if not iconic. Also, there are a number of unique string 'tron patches throughout which can add nice grit when layered with a more detailed orchestral string library.
I got it in that total workstation group buy a few years back, and it' s the only one of the five libraries that I keep installed.
I had no idea about the new filters from syntronik... Excited to try that in the morning!
