I'm trying to figure out how to recreate the synth sound from this track:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D8gVjRa--_w

Any ideas on where to start other than just playing the keys this way to begin with? Looking for a way to get that sort of pumping synth effect with a plugin or...?

I have tried a few things, but not even close really. Thought maybe sidechaining to something on mute, or trying a wobble plugin or something but it's just not quite there... Any help welcome! thanks!

All those sounds are synth sounds. What sound are you trying to recreate?

Modulating the amplitude of a sound with a squarewave that's synced to sixteenth notes will get you that rhythm going. Or just playing it. It's mostly simple on then off gated sounds. Outside of playing a 32nd note every 16th note, this can be accomplished in lots of ways, but a square wave LFO modulating the amplitude is the easiest. Then you can move onto a flexible tremolo. Then you can use a side chained gate. Then you can use one of the zillion "trancegate" plugins out there. Use volume automation. Etc.
