Enjoy the silence bass with U-he Diva?

How to make that sound...

Hello, I've been watching this astounding video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3nk5v2Vap9s

I tried reproducing the same sound with Diva but so far could not come to a satisfactory result.

I guess that the MIDI part itself plays a role (velocities mostly) but still don't seem to be able to get a decent result.

Did someone already tried and/or has some useful suggestion?
I hoped that Diva's filters could mimic minimoog somehow but I'm no longer sure...

Thanks,
Mario

Did you checkout the video by tolgaincy?
Key is to map velocity to filter cutoff.

Hi all, thanks for replying. @Chris-S, the thread and video you linked in turn links in the description to the same video I mentioned, and it's the same AnX reported. I think that the problem is about the filter, it seems that the minimoog filter has some kind of distortion that I couldn't reproduce with Diva so far.

Thanks,
Mario

I don't think so. But you could try with Legend or Monark, which are the best known Minimoog emulations.

V3 of the Arturia Mini doesn't sound quite the same either. The sound in the video relies on some characteristics of the older Arturia filter, particularly that bass boost it seems to have. It's worth remembering that the original DM version doesn't use a MiniMoog – I believe it's a Roland 700 so you may get more success from picking a different filter model in Diva.

Maybe you could post your result, so we can check?

Some notes:

There seems to be a PWM on OSC2 with 1.2 hz, also a light chorus and unison is used.
Behind the synth he is using a 1/8 delay if I see right.

The delay isn't active in the video, but the way the chorus is set up does have a subtle impact on the sound in Mini V.

Chris-S, quite nice!
Gimme a couple days and I'll post what I've managed to get so far.

Thanks!

I love this song (and album) so much. I wonder how many people have gotten interested in synthesizers simply because of DM?
