Hi el-bo,
many thanks for your help and the videos.
They are very very helpful for me!
I also changed the reverb a little bit ( thanks ChamMusic).
Maybe I found the reason for the mud in the sound:
I doubled the bass line in the strings ensemble.
Now I deleted it and I made some equing to the lower the bass of the strings.
I also changed to another string ensemble.
Do it sounds now better for you?
At the moment my ears are very tired so that I must make a short musical pause.
Greetings from Lübeck

Hi el-bo,
I am glad that you like it.
This was the longest mixing jam I ever did.
But it made the song much better.
Thank you!
By the way, the song is now downloadable.

I just did a little rough example of what I was talking about for the intro. If you want to hear it, it's on my page. I'll delete it once you let me know you've heard it

I really like it! The sounds really soar, as opposed to being weighed down.Gucky wrote:Hi el-bo,

But how do you feel about it? That's the most important part. Do you still have the first mix for comparison?

Now the guitarist Freddy Schlender added his e-bow style guitar to this song.
So I made now my final version of "time goes by".
Hope you like it.
Your feedback is welcome.

Nicely done. Great synthlines you did here. The orchestra is a bit dominant, but it´s ok for me like that. Good job.

Hi tcnext2,
thanks for your feedback.
I had some problems to integrate the guitar. But I hope that I have now the solution.
So here is my final version:

Movie soundtrack style. Concise structure.
Great mixing, instruments are not clashing, but the first guitar gets more presence after the beginning. The second guitar is very good, I like this kind of distorted tone.
The strings and atmospheres are very catchy too.
Nice work, Gucky.
