Best VI for quickly creating 808 Bass Line Melodies?

I often use the technique of combining a sine generated from a VI synth with a separate kick sample in order to create 808 style bass melodies. It can be time consuming to set up.
Can anyone recommend a VI that can do this in a more streamlined fashion?
I'd like to be able to specify the duration of the 808/sine pitch change and then be able to easily have that key tracked on a MIDI keyboard.
I've tried d16 PunchBox, but didn't find it as intuitive or as simple as I can picture it. At least not for specifically doing the 808 bass line thing.

A different but fast approach might be using the Synsonic-Instruments BD-808: http://synsonic-instruments.com/synsonic-bd-808/

NI Massive or Xfer Serum are what I use for 808/Trap type of subs because their envelops give me maximum control to shape the tone I want. But you can do it with almost any synth really...
I like to start with a Low pass filtered Triangle waveform and eventually add a bit of saturation to get harmonics that sound nice in the mix. For the attack part, you just have to assign an envelop to the oscillator's pitch. I usually layer the attack with a short kick to get it more consistent and punchier.
