Are there good resources on how to produce cinematic drum patterns?
Simple theory advice would be nice, and actual midi drum pattern files would be good too.
With EDM you have kick and snare etc.., with Orchestral its a whole different ball game.
Any advice welcome...
Cinematic drum patterns (theory and midi files) ?

As far as I know there aren’t. Basic tips are the lowest insturments should be least busy and the higher pitched percussion should be the busiest. Often times lots of syncopation is used and the number of parts build over time. Also you don’t need to think of it like a drum set. Bass drums can do rolls, you don’t have to worry about a drummer running out of limbs ,etc. I made a video about Euclidean rhythms last year and IMO they are useful for cinematic style tracks. I hope this helps.
