Polyverse/Infected Mushroom has a free plug-in now, too.

Wider:
Can make mono to stereo and widen stereo.. implemented with Allpass filters etc.
They say mono can go stereo and will sum back to mono without phase-problems.

First test in a track: This thing sounds really awesome. Also tested in mono against haas delay and there's a tonne less phase cancellation - retains the sound much better but you do have to compensate for a volume increase.

This plugin is great! It's amusing to me that it has generated almost zero buzz. I bet if it'd been a u-he plug, this thread would be 8 pages worth of glowing reviews. That's KVR fanbois for you. Anyway, I really dig this plug. I got an email about it last night and was instantly excited for it and it didn't disappoint.

yeah the volume increase is an issue.

oops yea, thanks IM and Polyverse.

What i like is how the 2 IM guys present themselfs.
They both wear just a casual t-shirt and jeans on the product-pictures.
While the bald guy likes to make his "epic" gestures the other is the calmest nicest guy ever... seems so.
Respect. ..Funny. And no shame to sing some totally weird stuff in the videos etc... with his angel-voice.

I found it far too detrimental to the sound, esp on whole mixes. Very 'flangey', and my centre was never as solid as with other options.

I try to avoid any such plugins, but I do use them, then ST Microshift is usually the one for me. On the whole mix i just AB'd Microshift against Wider with, the latter sounded like an out of phase hollow mess.

Might be OK for pads or something though, so i'll keep it installed.

Can't complain for free though.
