Hi,
I am trying to do pitch bend of single notes on non-MPE VSTs. Is there a way to do this in BWS?
I tried this with two note tracks and an instrument layer container with two note receivers from those two tracks. Didn't work.
Thanks for your help if you have a solution.

Hi BobDog, I don't think that's it. I am trying to pitch bend only one note at a time, using non MPE VSTs. I've been reading a bit on MPE, per MIDI.org, "In MPE, each note is assigned its own MIDI Channel so that those messages (eg, pitch bend) can be applied to each note individually". Pitch bend without MPE is assigned to the specific MIDI channel used, so I am also thinking I may not be able to do what I want to do even if I split the notes out into different note tracks, As long as they are all the same MIDI channel, I won't be able to "assign" pitch bend to just one of the note tracks... That is territory, and the purpose of, MPE.
Again, folks, please let me know if you have any other ideas. I think I'm wanting to do MPE without MPE. Ain't gonna happen.

Yes, now just trying to decide which one to start with. My background is much more guitar than keys, and I've read that points to the Linnstrument.pdxindy wrote:They are awesome! I've got the Linnstrument... but plan to get the Seaboard too.
By the way, with an MPE controller, and Bitwig being compatible with MPE, can I get per-note expression with any VST? I'm under the impression that the VST also needs to be MPE compatible, and there currently are only a handful.

With Bitwig 2.4 and its new midi channel support, you can use any VST by making multiple instances (each with the same preset) and using the new channel filter device to send 1 channel to each.sagetone wrote:Yes, now just trying to decide which one to start with. I find that a clumsy solution though glad it is now an option. Fortunately, there are enough MPE capable synths that I am satisfied.
There are the Bitwig synths... FM4, Polysynth, Phase-4 and the Sampler
U-he there is Hive, Repro, Diva and Bazille
PPG synths are WaveMapper 2, Infinite Pro, Phonem
Aalto and Kaivo from Madrona Labs
Strobe 2 and Cypher 2 from FXpansion
plus a few others...

Still not able to get Diva or either or the Repros to work with single not PB. Not sure what I'm missing? Nothing that I can see to set up or enable in the VSTs?pdxindy wrote:There are the Bitwig synths... FM4, Polysynth, Phase-4 and the Sampler

I don't have MPE devices.BobDog wrote:So what I said earlier in the second post of this thread, try that.
Also don't turn MPE on on the device, you don't want that.
I think I'm good to go now. I know what the snags are and what I need to do to correct (... get an MPE device )
