There always will be, nothing is perfect, but NI's track record of driver support is good and besides RME and Steinberg, the way to go if that is concern, at least on Windows.
This entire forum is wading through predictions, opinions, barely formed thoughts, drama, and whining. If you don't enjoy that, why are you here? ShawnG

Forget Amazon reviews... they often don't find the button to turn on the power. Rather check reviews at Thomann, or other stores. Or, trust in the judgment of people posting here.gort11112 wrote:have seen that one aswell but there are quite some negative opinions, that holds me back

Word. Amazon reviewers tend to only complain and may not know how to use the equipment correctly. NI support has always been good and they update their drivers regularly enough. I'm on Win8.1 using their AK1 interface which was designed for XP. Works fine.chk071 wrote:Forget Amazon reviews... they often don't find the button to turn on the power. Yeah, reading the 1 star reviews on the KA6 the majority of them complain of "pops & clicks" and say they are going to return it and pick another brand.
2 points.
1, That's DPC and it means the system needs optmizing. Returning the interface for another model, just means you'll be returning two units in the short term and probably quite a few more in the mid-term... well, at least until they realise the problem is an "ID-10T" error.
2, NI have one of the best written DPC troubleshooting and optimization walk throughs of all the interface firms. If you can't get it working with a read through of it then you might as well throw the Computer in the bin and start again.
As with most things in life and the majority of Amazon complaints... R.T.F.M.

Isn't that a monitor controller (volume control) rather than an audio interface? It looks like it has line inputs on 1/4" jacks, no USB.gort11112 wrote: Mackie Big Knob Passive seems quite nice too

looks like I'm about to go with Audient ID4, talked to lowest price seller and managed to shave ~9% of price
gonna cost me ~55% of what Komplete Audio would
maybe not as popular as other ones but mentioned on the list at least

The software bundle that comes with KA6 allows you
to upgrade to Komplete Select for $99, normally
$199, which is an excellent collection, including Massive,
Prism, and West Africa, (one of NI's best and more versatile
Kontakt libraries)
a savings 0f $100, and an entree
to upgrade to Komplete itself in some future sale.
And you get a $25 NI voucher that can cut the price of
Razor or Form or other affordables they offer.
The interface price is dwarfed by the sonic value of the included
software bundle. And the hardware is among the best

The id4 is the cut down one with a different converter set from the rest of the range that they devloped for the more value orintated education market, so the sound isn't quite up there with the rest of the models above it share. The ID14 is the comparable unit to the KA6, subjectively with the better signal path and converter set if your recording into it (the ID14 and above series are sold on their recording path), although the KA6 still has some of the best drivers at that (or even double that) price point.gort11112 wrote:looks like I'm about to go with Audient ID4, talked to lowest price seller and managed to shave ~9% of price

Not knocking the id4, it's a good unit for the price. Just noting that the units costing twice as much do actually have some very worthwhile upgrades to them that still make them decent value. If however, you're not recording into it, it probably isn't going to make any difference.
