Hello there.
I have a really strange issue with my z3ta+ by Cakewalk.
Firstly I have noticed the plugin is offline when loading project.
Reinstalling didn't help. I tried to load it with Reaper, Cakewalk by Bandlab, some other software that can be used as VST wrapper. I didn't update my system (Windows 10 Pro), I also disabled my antivirus program, but z3ta+ won't work. The second strange thing is that z3ta+.exe files also can't be run. I've checked both dll and exe files and they are not broken. I know there is something bad with my system, but can't figure it out. Does anyone know what could be the reason?
Thanks in advance!
[Update]Solved:
If you want to know, how I started my investigation:
1. Firstly I've downloaded Dependency walker.
2. Then I copied one of the dll library names, which was broken.
3. This followed me on Microsoft support site, where I found 2 solutions: sfc scan via command line and new user.
4. The first solution didn't give me any effective results.
5. The second one was what I need!
6. The next problem was how to copy all the settings.
7. After that I found Transwiz and now I feel like Sherlock Holmes!

Of course yes!
By the way, I don't need standalone version, working VSTi will be enough.

I'm guessing there was a registry entry for the working install
that is not updated in win 10, and since Cakewalk
is no longer the old Cakewalk, z3ta can't communicate
it's registration data. I suggest requesting the new Cakewalk
owners to arrange licensing for owners of legacy
z3ta, Rapture and variants, and Dimension Pro,
all of which are still excellent products. Offering
affordable paid upgrades might get them
some funds to cover the costs.
Cheers

Well, z3ta has an offline activation. Secondly, I have no problems with activation, because plugin can't be loaded on my system. Thirdly, it worked when Bandlab already was an owner.

I'd been meaning to install z3ta in one of my linux
setups, as it's a great ampsim, in addition to being
a great synth. After installing, it had placed a registry entry
as follows in
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
Software
Cakewalk Music Software
Default REG_SZ (value not set)
Installation Path REG_SZ C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\z3ta+
Serial Number REG_SZ your number
Version REG_SZ your version
VST Folder REG_SZ C:\Program Files (x86)VstPlugins
The installer prompted for the serial number
before starting the install itself.
Hope this helps!
As an aside, I'd just been testing the new
Amplitude Slash Marshall models, which sounded great,
but I still prefer z3ta+, as old as it may be!
Those synth presets are awesome with a decent
guitar input!
Cheers

Sorry, I don't get it. What do you want to say? I know where files are placed. I want z3ta+ work for me, nothing more.glokraw wrote: ↑Thu Oct 11, 2018 8:53 am

The last version is 1.5.3. Version 1.5.4 is probably bundled with one of Sonar.

As far as I know, z3ta+ is no longer supported. I have completely eliminated it from all of my DAW's. I actually own z3ta+ and z3ta+ 2, and I no longer use either one. There are plenty of other well supported wavetable synths to choose from.

Zt3a is available as its own download, by the way. I just downloaded the latest version from the website after installing Logic last week. Logic didn’t like the AU version I had. You’ll just need to log into your Cakewalk account (mine is still very much alive and well since the shake up).

Thanks. That's what I did. Z3ta+ isn't available on macOS.W23 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 11, 2018 5:19 pm Zt3a is available as its own download, by the way. I know there is something with my system, not plugin.

Are you sure you're talking about 1 version, not 2? Nevermind.
