AI-produced music. Would you try this?

AI has a long, long way to go before it's going to be a collaboration. I would collaborate with a peer, not a servant.

Not going for the clickbait either. At this point, with no interaction with the community ever to date, this is basically spam.

I would love to collaborate with artificial intelligence.

But artificial intelligence wouldn't like to collaborate with me :(

Yes. We collaborate with technology all the time, and AI is an extension of that.
If every KVR member wrote one review a year we'd have 678 reviews each day!

because sarah hasn't passed a turing test yet she is not yet able to "interact" with the community.
once the ai collects all the data it needs to program her to seamlessly interact, then they will...
make it so! :borg:

Depends on how you define "AI". I often build simple neural networks, markov chains and similar stuff (the big "AIs" are basically just more complex versions of those things) like that for generative music, so in a way, I've already collaborated with "AI" for a long time.

I think science fiction movies of the last century seriously messed up what people think what AI actually means, though.

I think AI is a worrisome development, much more so in other areas than music.
AI basically does what humans do as well, it analyzes, emulates, makes mistakes, learns from them etc.
AI is a bit scary because it destroys our illusion that humans are unique, have souls etc. That we do things for a reason, in a deliberate way. I think that illusion is important to the human psyche.
Also, when AI can create music, it turns music into something banal, it loses its artistic flair.

For an interpreter or a texter it would be interesting, they don‘t need a composer anymore. They can reject a melody and the AI just creates another one without being upset.
Its a bit like it is with presets in synths, if you are capable of programming sounds, you are much faster creating than finding a sound in a huge set of presets, and its original at the same time...
The AI has no personal expression and thus can‘t tell a story...
If you want to break free from your own patterns, it could help though through non obvious recombinations, but to create the really new its not made for that.
We as humans would not give away what is mostly fun: our creativity...

Stock, Aitken & Waterman did that years ago.
