TDR or the older VladG version of Limiter No6. Both are great.

Judging by the title of this post... plugin, as in singular, you're looking at an all in one solution like Ozone. In that case Ozone is a good, BX_Masterdesk is not a bad option either, I use it for bouncing rough masters for references for clients. I'm not a fan of the all in one solution though. There's quite simply no 'best' plugin here...

You should be looking at getting a decent mastering grade compressor and eq, some colouration tools (analogue modelled eq and dynamics as well as saturation) and a good limiter. My most used mastering chain looks a little liked this... sometimes it changes but usually starts like this.

Brainworx BX_Digital v3
Black Box Analogue Design HG-2
Elysia Alpha Master
SPL PassEQ Master
Newfangled Audio Elevate
Kazrog Kclip
Kazrog Masterdither

Clipping after limiting - what are your thoughts on that vs pre-limiter clipping? Do you also use the clipper in elevate at the same time?

PS I see you like PA pluggies on the master bus. Have you checked out Museq? It's rather lush!

Mastering for what media? LP, CD, mp3, 24/96?

IMO Necessary for mastering:
Great room
Great monitors (and many hours experience with them)
Great ears
Good EQ, compressors, limiters, etc.

When i had the first two items (not sure i ever had the third) i often used PSP and Ozone. Mastering for LP=real skill, mastering for mp3=damage control, mastering for 24/48 or 24/96 shouldn’t be that complicated.

This has been mentioned already multiple times and does not help anyone in this thread including OP.

Thanks for your opinion on whether my comment was helpful to
anyone in this thread. The second item was mentioned in an earlier post, i just felt like reiterating the point. I don’t see any mention at all of a good sounding room or good ears, nor the mention of many hours on a good system.

All of these points have been made in older threads, though.

Take Time, discover the Variety and choose the Tool that fits your Needs. So much to learn here - but also to do wrong or miss.

Mainstream is Mainstream btw and "all in one" usually nothing really...

Try Sontec Style EQs!

How apt.
"I was wondering if you'd like to try Magic Mushrooms"
"Oooh I dont know. Sounds a bit scary"
"It's not scary. You just lose a sense of who you are and all that sh!t"

Ozone still wins for me.
