I recommend the TB Pro Audio dPMeter 3.

Klanghelm vu meter is excellent and accurate ( where most vu meters fail miserably ) , while NOT free it is cheap as chips
You have the option to choose a pro version

there was a thread some time ago when someone decided to actually test all these VU meters and found some to be off in some respects...any help finding would be great
