This looks like it is somehow based on ToneCarvers Nova3 since it follows the exact same concept including a lot of the same UI terminology. (Also the first sentence of the product page blurb is practically identical to the first sentence of the 'Overview' section in Nova3s readme.)
Compared with Nova3 there have been some bits added and others taken away so its not a 100% clone. Which one is better (function-wise) remains to be seen. In any case, MIDI generators of this kind are great for experimental kinds of stuff so if you like the (quasi-)unpredictable and unexpected, this is how to get it. (Although more 'programmatical' stuff is of course possible too.)
Thanks to CodeFN42

This is a pretty awesome. And Nova 3 was based on and improved on something else.
The workflow is nicer here, with more control over the scales/notes, and individual bots plus grouping, and wall properties.

I forget the name, but there’s also a commercial Kontakt-based sequencer/sample player based on the same concept.

According to Nova3s readme, this would be Otomata by Batuhan Bozkurt at http://www.earslap.comyellowmix wrote:This is a pretty awesome. And Nova 3 was based on and improved on something else.
Except for the name im not familiar with this one, so no idea how closely (or not) Nova3 and Transition are actually resembling it. Maybe i will take a look some time.
Thats good to hear.yellowmix wrote:The workflow is nicer here, with more control over the scales/notes, and individual bots plus grouping, and wall properties.
I will have to wait until the weekend to really dig in, but so far no CodeFN42 plugin has ever disappointed.

Cracklefield is great - hard to get the head around, but incredibly powerful.deastman wrote: ↑Thu Nov 22, 2018 7:12 pm This is the other one I was thinking of.

It seems that these apps do not effect note length.
All notes are the same length.
Am I overlooking something?
Are these apps for notes or also for chords?

Cracklefield IS great, probably the most powerful and interesting MIDI sequencer ever made for Kontakt (if I'm wrong about that, PLEASE let me know about the better one(s)!) and thus also a MIDI generator/seq for ANY sounds source via the MIDI out feature.
It has both a chord mode and a hold parameter for adjusting note lengths. Pdf manual.

The Gate parameter controls the note length in Transition. It can also generate chords.Kalamata Kid wrote: ↑Thu Nov 22, 2018 8:56 pm It seems that these apps do not effect note length.

Codefn42 has some great midi plugins. This looks fun.
