Great free vst synths that use one dll file

Might sound pathetic and lazy, but I'm just getting back to playing with music and seeking instruments/vst's that only have a .dll, as don't want to have tons of installers.
If you know of any ones you like, please let me know the name of them.
Thanks.

Not sure if they are great but all my VSTs use only one DLL without any installer.

Ugo audio rez 3comes with 2 colors both dlls you can only install one if you want though and the banks are optional. If you like physical modeling you could try m-theory too.

All TAL synths including free ones don't use installers. Dexed DX7 emulation, too.

If my memory is correct, HG Fortune synths use single dll files with some having a preset folder or extra bank patches.

Its actually a great thread IMO. The easy way out is just toss more cash at ILOK and software managers to clock your system. I don't have a lot to offer in synths as I've collected payware over the years, but that doesn't necessarily mean better. I can tell you that I really like the sleepytime records VSTs and the analog obsession freeware. fetish is prolly the best freeware compressor IMO. as far as synths go... I would have to do some investigation, but I whole heartily believe less resources is better with computers. Don't feel ashamed or anything.

well, there is a balance there. i'm looking for the best sounding kit i can get, so i like the cpu heavy stuff if it sounds better. i just don't like sacrificing resources for bloat.Russell Grand wrote: Wed Nov 28, 2018 4:37 amAgreed.Dasheesh wrote: Wed Nov 28, 2018 3:25 am ...I whole heartily believe less resources is better with computers.

Zebralette uses a separate folder for it's gui , thus it's not embedded in the dll.

Check out the One Synth Challenge website, on the left hand side is a list of the Free synths used over the years.
You can listen to the top submissions to hear what the synth sounds like (in talented hands).
There is also a link to the relevant KVR thread for each month's challenge with people discussing the synths and often sharing presets:
