Got it, thanx! I was looking at some Auralex stuff, but in the end I think I'll approach the DIY method for my room. Unfortunately I have trouble in finding the right materials locally.

I wandered into a charity shop on my way home yesterday and bought a Line 6 Pod HD500 for EUR 85. Looks like it was used maybe once. Awesome.

There is absolutely no fault on this guitar that I could find. It is as if I'd given it over to my luthier friend and gotten it back after he worked his magic on it.
Intonation: perfect;
Frets; not a single sharp fret, not a single buzz, relief needed is minimal, which is important because;
The action is pretty low, right in my ballpark.
The nut is cut correctly. Again, not always a given;
The volume/tone controls are quite sensitive;
The pups are great. This guitar sounds as good as it looks.
If this is the last guitar I buy, and it probably is, then I've gone out in style. I'd absolutely recommend it to anyone who wants a really good 12er without paying a fortune for a Ricky, or who's hands are too big for the Ricky. I see them advertised on American sites for $999.00 MAP. I wonder what they can be had for if you ask? Things are always more expensive here, but, for $999 or less, this is a no-brainer if you're in the market.
Can't go wrong with Peerless made hollow and semi hollow no matter what the brand.

Btw, you got a good deal on the POD HD. I had an XT, ending up selling it for €65.

It seems very good indeed. I was shocked when I saw it sitting there. Got it registered at Line 6 and downloaded all the software. I'm chuffed with it.

Very little gear shopping this year, but I splurged for a Prophet 6, picked up a road case for it, and one of those crazy new ehx expression pedals. I was on business travel from February thru October, so that really limited what I was willing to buy and cart around with me. I picked up a Dell xps15 and loaded it with all my music software to give me something to do in the hotel. When I got home last month, I bought a two-tier keyboard stand, so my Prophet and my DX7 can be played together.
Oh, and picked up Dune 3 the other day. I've always enjoyed working with the Dune synths.

All the information I have states that the Samick no longer operates in Korea. Samick moved it's global headquarters to Tennessee - http://www.smcmusic.com/ It still sells acoustics but they are all made in China or India. The Incheon factory that used to make Samick's is now used for both Peerless and World Music Supply CoBombadil wrote: ↑Tue Dec 18, 2018 6:55 pmtapper mike wrote: ↑Tue Dec 18, 2018 3:38 amThe serial reads 'KS' which means it's the Samick plant.

Ok. Still a superb instrument. My experience with Pac-Rim guitars is basically that they've gotten pretty good at electric gits, but acoustic guitars are still sub-par to American and European makes. There are exceptions, like Eastman, but even they have their issues. Again, just my experience.
