Most companies leave their current product version up on their site until it's updated but I've never seen a company completely remove a product from their website and nothing to replace it.

I'd guess there's a copyright violation issue, ie it's been pulled. It was basically full of samples from drum machines, right? Likely that some manufacturer isn't happy...?

Very interesting thought Zero. That never even occurred to me but now that you mention it, I guess that's very possible. I was mentally stuck on and hoping that they were getting ready to release a major update. Hope it's not called Emptylution.

It's not pulled because of copyright issues, dunno where that comes from. They pulled it because they're doing quite major changes to it and rebranding it as Drumvolution, see the following Facebook post. Guess/hope it's coming very soon.

Just as BeeDog said, it's receiving a big update, better integration with some DAWs, a new name... But the upgrade will be free for current Evolution users.
How cool is that?

Glad I picked that up in the recent sale, think between that, Stix, Geist, Battery and the upcoming drum machine (hopefully) in the new Homegrown Sounds group buy, that should be me more or less covered for most drum requirements.BeeDog wrote: ↑Wed Dec 19, 2018 6:51 am It's not pulled because of copyright issues, dunno where that comes from. Actually, it's not that uncommon that a developer creates and releases a library and they forgot you have to speak about Roland/etc in a certain way or really bad emails from lawyers starting to arrive.BeeDog wrote: ↑Wed Dec 19, 2018 6:51 am It's not pulled because of copyright issues, dunno where that comes from. Or there was another company that came out with the name Evolution earlier than Wave Alchemy. Or someone simply bought the name from WA. That's also quite common.
But that a company completely rebrands a popular product just for fun is not that common. All reviews, videos, etc will be pointing to a product that doesn't exist, and no company would do something like that for fun. Especially around Christmas.
I mean... we don't see Steinberg pulling Cubase from the shops ahead of an update and decide to call it Musicbase instead.
Whatever the reason - it's good that WA is doing an update with the name change.
WA is one of my favorite sample makers.

Thanks for the link shedding some light on this BeeDog (cool name).Speculation will always come from there not being enough info available. Just seems to me that their website would be a great place to clear that up to maybe ward off negative speculation. Not everybody is into facebook but that's just me.BeeDog wrote: ↑Wed Dec 19, 2018 6:51 am It's not pulled because of copyright issues, dunno where that comes from. Anyway, this is great news! As I said, I was really hoping for some new good news on this plugin.
I have it and think it's one of the best thought out plugins out there and would love to see it evolve further.

But we have seen Steinberg pulling Cubit and decided to call it Cubase - ok, that was 1989...
As far as I recall it was a brand issue...

I actually remember reading about Cubit back in the day. That was for the Atari and for the successor of Twentyfour. Did Cubit ever get a real physical release?Tj Shredder wrote: ↑Wed Dec 19, 2018 10:56 amBut we have seen Steinberg pulling Cubit and decided to call it Cubase - ok, that was 1989...

But yeah... these things happen all the time. No one pulls anything from sale or change the name without a good reason.

I also speculated it was an issue with sample licensing, but from the comments, WA say this version will have a separate serial and ability to run side-by-side with Evolution.
In any case, the poly-rhythmic sequencer and better automation will be much appreciated!

I think it did, but for a very short time... They should have called it Qubit instead... (I think quantum computers haven't been invented back then...
