ZombyWoof wrote: Fri Dec 28, 2018 1:18 pm I knew it wasn't a bundle like Total MAX and more like XL, but if ST3 MAX USB is purchased after Nov. 13, I understand that the equivalent ST4 version would be provided, and that would be ST4 MAX USB. I just wanted to confirm with Peter. If this isn't the case, I can just go directly to ST4 MAX USB (if downloads are also provided).

Peter, does it make sense to buy ST3 MAX now, or should I just go to ST4 MAX directly and have to wait for the content when it is released?

Also, what are the download options, if any, when buying the USB version?
If you want the USB of SampleTank 4 MAX you may want to order that.

You will also get access to the sounds downloads once you register your USB version.
If the usb version is coming in the mail, :x hurry UP :x
it's already paid for, and the customer should have immediate access to downloads and registration. The usb device is a convenience,
but shouldn't inconvenience the customer's access to downloads.
(I'd guess some usb customers might not download more than their choice of bare essentials, but all downloads should be on the table.

Peter sorry for being partly offtopic i just saw Sampletank 4 videos and i am gobsmacked on some (FX mainly) features so i have questions.

1. Are FX from T-racks of same quality in sample tank 4 or something lower?

2. I am finding this horizontal approach way way more easier to work with. With that being said is something like that i mean horizontal rack (hence the offtopic question) planned for future of T-racks?

3. is it possible to use these FX racks as standalone effect? I mean if i buy Sampletank 4 can i somehow use it's mixing engine and FX racks as a VST FX processor?

Jesus this whole rack thing and all these compressors and load of FX seems like a very well made thing and i would literally buy just something like this...

Still not finding a printed list of the Sample Content that comes with the various versions of ST4. Certainly by now such important information has been posted somewhere and I'm just missing it ?

I've looked all over the IK site and don't see a simple list of what samples the various versions contain.

"200 GB of all new sounds" doesn't do me any good when I'm trying to decide if I want to upgrade or not. I don't really need any new sample content but if there is something I don't already have and really want then it would be incentive to upgrade to MAX instead of SE.

Took a leap of faith and got ST4 regular version.

I don't really need any samples of instruments since I have like 100 gbs of content from ST3 and all the previous ST2 versions. Hopefully, it comes with a well rounded set of new instruments and not a lot of rehash.

ST2 with Sonik Synth, Sampletron, Samplemoog, Miroslav 1 & the other previous instrument libraries is about 50 gbs. Syntronik is about 50 GBs. ST3 is 33 gbs and if the new one is 60, I hope to get some nice instruments in brass, guitars, woodwinds & strings that use the new features. With the new streaming feature I think Im gonna have to invest in am SSD for all of this stuff.

No, SampleTank 4 is not compatible with Linux. You can find full information on the Specs sub-page on our site.
Thank, but these days I am, finally, Linux only :)

"200 GB of all new sounds" for me sounds like:  "we don't know how to use lossless compression formats for samples in 2019"

Or...."200 GB of all new sounds = 199 GB of Cowbell samples...... :hihi:

Really all joking aside there is no good reason why a sample list wasn't provided on the day the pre-order was announced.

How you can offer a sample based instrument for sale and not list all the samples it contains is beyond me.

Are you for real? You are long timer here (i am maybe wrong) and you should know better. I mean what are you talking about?

You do realize that library of 200gb ++ sounds - consist of probably half million of samples. If not million. To list all of them is crazy.

Even if they listed them no one is so insane (i see i may be wrong about this) to go through list of possibly half a million of samples. And for what purpose exactly? To say "ahhhh i see they used sample called "bluepig" to get this sound...cool..

Show me please show me which company provide list of samples for their libraries? Native instruments Kontakt - no list....Motu - no list... Not even 3rd party library developers make list of samples used.

Once again, ik & their shady marketing at work. I like t-racks, own almost all of them, but with every new big ik product launch it's the same thing. I'm absolutely not interested in the st4 sounds, but the new resizable gui looks tasty !

Oh for God's sake are you for real ? You've been here long enough to understand I mean a list of the Instruments not the individual samples. No one in their right mind would think I wanted a list of "Cello Velocity 128 C#3" "Cello Velocity 128 D#2" etc etc.......

I mean is there:

"Grand Piano Bösendorfer"

"Slap Bass Yamaha"

"Mixed Choir Gothic"

etc etc. Forgive me if I thought it was painfully obvious what I meant.........

Anyway I don't know what part of requesting to know what is included with each package is controversial.

Is the extra 70 gigs of content worth the extra cost going from ST4 SE to ST4 ? I don't know maybe it's something I really want and it would be a no-brainer to purchase the higher version and maybe not. Can't tell if I don't know what is included.

I think I want to upgrade to ST4 but would like more information to make the right decision.

Certainly not an unreasonable request ?
