+1 but the op mentioned he's not a fan of Melda. There is a new ReEQ. Not ReaEQ. It' s a new thing:

Make sure to download the build that was optimised/bug fixed by the TBProAudio guy.Boone777 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 20, 2018 5:46 am+1 but the op mentioned he's not a fan of Melda. There is a new ReEQ. Not ReaEQ. It' s a new thing:

this one has less filter types but sounds great, is easy on the cpu an dirt cheap (10 pounds at the moment).

It's currently on sale at £10, I think the dev is worth backing, free updates, even though I had a few crashes with the demo in S1 on Win 10.

No probs, the Windows version seems to be missing the .exe extension, the installer works if corrected and renamed Babylon.exejbarish wrote: ↑Sun Jan 06, 2019 6:07 amThanks for the heads up. Teething and issues for me at the moment, more beta testing needed. It still looks promising, so I'll wait for a resolution.

I downloaded the demo and considered buying it a few days back before the sale. But I decided on Crave EQ instead. The Noodlist wrote: ↑Sun Jan 06, 2019 5:41 amIt's currently on sale at £10, I think the dev is worth backing, free updates, even though I had a few crashes with the demo in S1 on Win 10.

The demo is absolutely useless. Very cheap. They let you have only ONE band and that is it!
It's almost as if they think you are going to steal it or something. Best not let them get something for free!
The demo for Crave EQ is pretty much fully functional - https://cravedsp.com/crave-eq - it does drop out now and again but is very unobtrusive. In fact, I did a few small mixes with it and it hardly ever drops out at all.
Presets can be saved, and you get to play with the entire EQ - all bands - not just one!
I was going to buy Babylon when I saw it on sale for a tenner, but then I thought, nah, I'll give it a miss after a 'demo' like that. One band!
Put that tenner towards buying Crave EQ - let's call it 39 quid! Ah, seems so much better...
One band! On an EQ!
I've tested Crave EQ on Samplitude, Studio One, Ableton, Reaper, Cubase and FLStudio. It's fast to load and the spectrum display is pretty good too, not giving too much of a cpu hit at all.
I still love the DDMF IIEQPro - it's been constantly updated and improved at no extra charge. It's in a class of its own. But even though Crave EQ costs twice as much (49 quid), it's probably worth it. Get both.
There isn't really an alternative to DDMF IIEQPro at this price point.
Get that and Crave EQ and you'll never have to buy another EQ again.
Musical, surgical, transparent, functional. And lots of fun...
Both of them!

Yep, just tried the Crave EQ, it has lots of features and several modes of operation, and it looks great.
Wow, I totally agree with the previous post.
I was reading a thread on Gearslutz and thought I'd try the demo of Crave EQ,(not to be confused with Carve EQ.)

Try extreme high end boosts with sharp q with this thing...The Noodlist wrote: ↑Wed Dec 19, 2018 11:07 pm Babylon by Gramotech .....it was recently on sale £10.
I found it easy to detect resonances with the demo, I need all the help I can get.

I went ahead and bought the Babylon EQ after all.
Couple of things.
It's .vst3 only as far as I can tell so it won't work in some hosts like EnergyXT2 even though a 32-bit version is included. And of course it won't work in Ableton Live either which doesn't support .vst3 (at least my version 9 doesn't).
It did work though in Cubase and Samplitude and FLStudio and Studio one. Well, kind of.
It crashed nearly every single one of those hosts. Even on different projects! And it totally crashed them too. It takes a lot to bring FLStudio to its knees, but Babylon managed it, twice. It also crashed Cubase and Studio one, or was it Samplitude? Oh well, 3 out of 4 ain't bad.
In my eyes, this thing is not ready for prime time. It was only a tenner so I won't ask for my money back. Hopefully it will be sorted out in a future update.
Very disappointing. I've got a very solid, recently built win10 system here as well and everything else is running perfect. And it always crashed when I was moving the mouse over and changing levels and frequencies. Poof!
Just buy DDMF's excellent EQ - it's only £17 more.
This is one you don't want to cheap out on.
I won't even try this Babylon thing again in a project till it gets a serious upgrade. It looks nice though!

Same issues here with Babylon. Turns out to be a failure.
A lesson learned from this.
Why, when there's excellent free TDR Nova and better options like Waves F6, Crave EQ and ToneBoosters EQ V4?

I agree entirely. Try not to be fooled by the bargain price - if something's broken or doesn't work how you think it should, you won't reach for it. Just one little niggle (no wet mix knob, odd crashes, Nquist warping etc) and you'll always reach for something else - so don't bother. "It was only $20" is a sad excuse. I try to demo everything extensively now before buying. Wasted too much on useless buggy plugins.
Let's make 2019 about more music, less plugins
