This definition makes sense. So it's not that a plug goes outdates, Its more for when Apple breaks it with an update lol.

SoundPorn wrote: Thu Jan 10, 2019 7:21 pm How does a plugin go outdated? I honestly don't know. I demo Waves plugin for a week, everything works fine on my system, so I buy it...At what point does it go outdated? If you demo it and it works fine, why would it just stop working? If it works what do you need an update for?
drdriller wrote: Tue Jan 08, 2019 10:09 am be carefull of waves sales, you buy a plugins 20 $, supposed to be 200 $ at full price, ok you don't understand what's the f**k with the full price but you feel comfortable with the sale price, then 1 years later waves ask you to pay 100 $ to stay in the upgrade plan, if not you won't receive any update for your plugins, so you decide to sell your plugins and check condition, waves ask 10 % of the full price as second hand fee !!!!!!!!! so you would like to sell your plugins 10 $ because it is outdated and available at sale price on pluginsboutique for 20$, but you can't because of the 20 $ fees...

then the installer is from outer age, i will never buy any waves plugins again.

i can give for free two waves tunes real time license to anyone who want to pay the waves fee. (19.9 $)
When plugin suddenly refuses to work in new version on OS or DAW it is outdated.

Cakewalk Z3TA 2+ stopped working for a bit after Logic X updated to 10.2 or so. Good thing they provided an update but it was in a while.
It's abandonware now, so if no fast moves if you want it to work.

And thats why pros like and use Waves. There are few developers that can stick around for a quarter of a century.

Is anyone affected by the 66 sample latency? I ques the limiter is the reason for it.

From the purchase date, there's 1 year WUP included, so it should still be possible to upgrade to v10

am exploring flow motion now (logic X). i might go for it. but if anyone figures out how to get rid of the '3d' tiled room background... post here! it looks like the GUI is floating over a huge public bathroom...

Why in "gods" name would you want to open 10 year old projects. Looking back is so embarrassing....

lol Gotcha man. It disappears for me after a while, but I still love the peripheral effect it has while working with it.

When you buy the plugin you get 1 year WUP along with it, to prevent this kind of “bad luck” from happening, So you’d still get a free update to Version 10 for that particular plugin, unless you’ve had it for more than a year.

I had to renew a few of my Waves plugs back in August when I bought Logic Pro X, it wouldn’t recognize expired Waves AUs until I did so. I don’t remember paying more than about a 1/3 of the $29 each that I initially paid for them the year before...so, not great but, not terrible either

i bought this one; surprised there's not more discussion here about it. fun stuff, good sound (altho, again, i hate that 3D tiled background). finding places to use it, always a good thing....

I really haven’t had the chance to check out Flow Motion fully yet. The thing I really dig about It though is the ability to sequence presets. So you can get a really glitchy sound out of it if you really wanted too.

I find it funny how AU break all the time. This isn't something that happens on the VST in OSX also?
-------------------
Bitwig is my DAWs and UHe and Tracktion Synths are my Bae. I maybe buy one synth a year. REMEMBER SELF just one synth a year!

Actually, AU break rarely. At least that's my experience. But I'm not using freeware though.

Flow Motion certainly hasn't crashed on me.

I find it very interesting for more "outside the Box" sounds like Atmospheres.
Its also very good for rhythmic and synced sounds.
For bread and butter sounds, I may choose something else.
