Perhaps someone should condense all these proposals to
THE ONE LIST OF AMP SIMS.
That would an easier read...
I think this is probably close: https://honestampsimreviews.com
Peace, my friends. I'm not seeking arguments here. ;)

Revalver (internal vst loader is awesome!).
That was my idea. Your'e welcome. I also came up with the idea of ReValver's IR loader.
Yeah, sure they all do it now but I was the first to suggest it's implementation. :D

Specifically I guess some tube marshall with good dynamics for cleanish to crunchy sounds,
For me the Kuassa Caliburn fits this bill.

List of Amp sims is a better title. I have problems when anyone asks for "best" this or "best" that. It's when you know they haven't matured enough in their music making/production to understand how that is almost an irrelevant question. I understand why they ask it though, I just feel I need to start educating them.

I've most likely already said it in here, "Best" is a subjective term. It means different things to different people. Ask a question like that and all you are going to get is a list of everyone's favs.

They can't all be right, they can't all be the best. But that's just it "best" is relative. It's pure Ley subjective to people's likes, dislikes, whether they play, whether they drop samples, what genre of music are the into, what they had for lunch that day, all sorts of things. Everybody is right, yet none of them are right at the same time.

That's why people should just cut out all that BS and just ask for a list of options. That way people aren't deluding themselves or accidentally misguiding others.

Any thought on Sknote Deluxe1. The main attraction being the cabinet model. Not IRs.

Really like it. Only used it on one song so far, which isn't finished. Nails that late 60s/early 70s amp pushed sound. You're not going to get any kind of modern generic high gain sounds from it, but if you like a bit of retro action, then definitely worth a go.

COOL

my actual rig is PAF dialed back a bit into a Ts808 drive set to 0 into a cranked heathy 66 Fender Champ. It should fit the bill quite well.

I liked the demos I heard. Looking forward to tryin it out

I love it, and it's not the sort of ampsim I would ever normally use (I'm loving the Mercuriall SS-11X so that tells you where my passion is!), but it's probably the most authentic sounding ampsim I've got (and I have a lot). I tend to stick the Ignite Amps ProFET distortion pedal in front of it to tighten up the sound and give it some push.

I love the mic options as they really change the character of the sound. And the cabinet section is not just normal IRs (apparantly) but they integrate closely with the amp itself. Who knows? Sounds good to me :D

BlueCat Axiom with their integrated Destructor and Late Replies,
vst import, and drag/drop chain control is great fun,
and it's gettting a free update to a new software,
a guitar and pickup modelor that also will be a separate product if desired.
It's not clear to if the free update deal is good beyond the Axiom
sale price timeframe of January 2019.

Great news either way :hyper:

I found myself disagreeing with a lot of their opinions. They rated GR5 better than AT4 for example. While I like GR5's interface much better, AT4 wins in most every other category.

WOW, we have received a ton of hits because of this thread. Thank you to everyone that checked out the page.

Amplitube 4 sure has a lot of fans in here and if it works for you, so be it. As we mentioned on the page and in a post on KVR, the full amp suites were not given enough reviewing time. This was a scheduling issue mistake on my part when planning the initial stages of the page. Amplitube 4 has been updated with more updates on the way for GR5, Helix Native and a number of others.

We understand that not everyone agrees with our ratings and reviews but that's really only the first part of our page moving forward. We will be revamping the design plus adding tons of fun features on everything from buying used guitars and basses, buying used pickups, pickup selection, modding your own guitars to save money and a lot more.

Any and all suggestions are taken into consideration and the suggestions we received early on from KVR forum members were incredibly helpful. Thank you very much.

I'm interested. For me AT4 fits the bill w/o BS. I try everything. And being a Slate sub, I'll look forward to the TH-U that will come out (eventually!) But I own/have tried everything and AT4 is overall the best sounding, least cpu, easiest to find a sound.

If you feel differently, cool. So many options and whatever works is whatever works.

Site should be called Shitty Amp Sim Reviews. Guitar Rig is more of a joke nowadays.
