Given the evidence (ie: the track record, roles and relative sizes of both companies) I'm inclined to lay the blame for this poor handling on PA/Dirk.

Just downloading the Thorn solo from Beat, I am sure this (like the CM edition) will be gone soon.....
I must say I am happy that I dont followed the hipe and dont spent any money on Thorn....
Wonder what happen to Tantra and Diversion which I own but dont worry too much, apart from the high cpu of Diversion I am happy with them as they are.

A misunderstanding one finds quite often. Truth is: As soon as you deal with or even just offer to Europeans, GDPR chimes in.

Will be moved over to PA with the release of V2 later this or next year. According to the DS newsletter, Diversion V2 will be first.tatanka wrote: Fri Feb 08, 2019 3:20 pm Wonder what happen to Tantra and Diversion which I own but dont worry too much, apart from the high cpu of Diversion I am happy with them as they are.

One would think that the same should hold true for VAT, but, i haven't seen so many US online stores which actually discharge VAT.

BTW, Thorn, Diversion or Tantra in the current versions won't stop working tomorrow. Just thought that i'd point this out again. For the ones wondering if they all stop working magically.

Diversion 2.0 is supposed to come out this year. Maybe they will bake in the infrastructure migration into the upgrade price. I think that would be better than having to pay for two Diversion updates this year.tatanka wrote: Fri Feb 08, 2019 3:20 pm Just downloading the Thorn solo from Beat, I am sure this (like the CM edition) will be gone soon.....

I was thinking about buying Thorn during the holiday sales when it was €69 or something like that, but ended up skipping it in favor of other deals. I guess I'll never buy it now since it probably won't go on sale again. It seems PA don't do straight sales, but rather various manipulative schemes to extract money from and make customers buy more stuff.

Take a single oscillator, producing a drone. Send it to the wave shaper, altering the tone.
This can be a triangle, Sawtooth or a square. Modulate the pulse width, nobody will care

VAT is usually handled in the receiving country after the purchase, not the one selling/sending the goods.chk071 wrote: Fri Feb 08, 2019 3:25 pmOne would think that the same should hold true for VAT, but, i haven't seen so many US online stores which actually discharge VAT.

If you offer world wide, you HAVE to use a payment service which takes account of VAT. Or any other sales tax in the country you are selling to.

Yeah, but we all know: When there's no ligitator, there won't be a judge. ("Wo kein Kläger, da kein Richter.")chk071 wrote: Fri Feb 08, 2019 3:25 pm One would think that the same should hold true for VAT, but, i haven't seen so many US online stores which actually discharge VAT.

Yeah. Same applies to GDPR. I'm registered on some German forums which didn't want to incorporate the Tapatalk plugin for that reason, while others simply gave a damn (:tu:).

Privacy laws are universal so it doesn't matter if he's an EU company or not.
