Oh FFS. This is a cartoon-like funky number with a backbeat all throughout. There is nothing complex harmonically, there isn't a lot of anything confusing, except it's timbrally busy.
Thanks jancivil. The only comments I made about the tunes was decent chord progression and funky rhythms. The rest was generic maunderings on hexapodia as the key insight, more succinctly surmised here-- http://www.hexapodia.org/

I tend to give uncritical praise of chord progressions because sometimes it seems that chord progressions are an endangered species. :)

I also thought it a perfect cartoon music genre match, judging from what I heard when daughter watched Cartoon Network. Though it would have been praise, I did not mention it for fear of causing offense. Some folks might misunderstand, "Hey, you make great cartoon music!"

Sometimes Spike Jones made purt entertaining cartoon music.

Unfortunately they don't even have good kool-ade at the old folks home anymore since Owsley died.

I liked this because it has this old 30s kind of humor. I wasn't looking for chords, but I noticed this chromatic sort of line which made me thing of old jazz and Fleischer Brothers.

I haven't ingested psychedelics in over 30 yrs, for reasons.

“I mean, some people like to play on ii-V-I changes and can bebop themselves into a frenzy; and there are other people who even like to listen to that sort of thing. I can’t stand it myself. I pretty much loathe chord changes.” - Frank Zappa

one of many things I found uncanny agreement with

I kind of did a iv and back to i in the most recent thing, but that was out of parts and solidifying a sus 4 rather. I don't know what they do in pop, but I notice good part-writing. Chords to me are boxes, I want outside-the-box.

Stalling was a genius and one of the most original composers of my time. Growing up loving music at a very young age (I made my first singing recording at age 3) one of my favorite musical works were the works of Loony Toons. And the ironic thing is, with all the music I've written over the years, I've never written anything in this style though it's probably more natural for me than any other style of music as it was my very first exposure to music of any kind. In fact, my favorite part of Bugs and all of the Toons characters was the music.

One day, and I have no idea when, I'm going to do an homage to Stalling.

well, let me answer with a humpa track that just hammers the chord progression in. it was kind of the point. believe it or not, i have an emotional connection to this track, but that has more to do with when and where it was made than anything.

more metal export while i'm at it. i had like 8 rough verses for this, but didn't record any of them. the first one is catchy, anyway.

yeah, just exporting more. this is a good one. i just gave it a cheap loop back to prior part right now. the loop is good. but man this one needs fleshing out.

When it gets nuttier, it reminds me of my friend Schizobrainiac (Solo Goodspeed, LA).

thanks for the enthusiasm! it's a pretty recent one, and i'm happy i can still write this sort of stuff when i'm focused, at least.
it's just become harder to pull through and finish good ideas, so i'll probably do more compromise renders of all the half-finished stuff lying around, and then decide on what i wanna put more work into, or start new stuff altogether.

little experimental jam from last year. it's not particularily good, but is giving me ideas on how to work quicker and more erratic again. working on a tune 3 hours, going with spontaneous decisions.

anyone know the zelda game on super nintendo? this track is loosely inspired by the dark world of said game, although it doesn't really sound like any themes from the game. oh yeah, unfinished.

i could use some feedback on the mixing. it's obviously not supposed to sound hi-fi, but i haven't found a balanced sound yet.
any critique welcome.
