SampleTank 4 on the way

The triple instruments are all the same instrument. Only shows up when you select the Sampletank 4 library. If you load one of them, all three of them change highlight colors. So I guess it's not duplicates on disc/etc. Something wacky with their filtering/database. If you don't filter by Sampletank 4 and scroll the big list, everything is only shown once.
It's not really that big a deal, doesn't seem to have any real side effect other than taking up screen space and looking silly.

I just confirmed that ALL of the ST4 sounds are listed in triplicate in the interface.DarkStar wrote: Sun Feb 24, 2019 5:10 pm You guys with the triplicate instruments: can you pick one example and look to see exactly what files for that instrument are actually on your disk? Post all the path / file names.

Only IK knows the true extent of the issues. I just know from past experience that forum posts are only a small part of the whole picture. I'm quite happy with my purchase, but I'm only speaking for myself.Elektronisch wrote: Sun Feb 24, 2019 5:21 pmAnd you are a spokesman for the majority of ST4 users that you feel so important to answer for them that its not rocky? world doesnt spin around you you are just a small piece. So far majority expierience crashes and all other oddities, download issues, broken zip files.jcgam wrote: Sun Feb 24, 2019 4:42 pmThis release isn't "rocky" for me. It's solid, and I'm loving it. We should keep in mind that forums like this tend to zoom in on issues for ANY software release, while there are many others who are just enjoying the software without posting.Elektronisch wrote: Sun Feb 24, 2019 4:08 pmWell if thats the case, then its actually IK fault not to testing on every possible commercial DAW (Reason, Cubase, FL Studio, Pro Tools, Nuendo, Bitwig, Ableton, Studio One, Traktion, Reaper)zzz00m wrote: Sun Feb 24, 2019 3:57 pm Just a thought. There may be some DAW related compatibility issues regarding the window resizing. I have heard that hi-dpi compatibility can be particularly troublesome. DAWs often handle plugin window management in their own way.
If the standalone version resizes OK, then your GPU and display are probably compatible. If you have trouble in your DAW with either the VST2 or VST3, then you probably should open a support ticket with IK.
Anyways, im still quite shocked about this rocky ST4 release. You did do so well with Uno, new interface, T-racks 5 (minus reported and registered and aknowledged bugs half year ago). Lucky people who didnt jumped on pre-orders, but even so if people who did that i think if requested IK should give a refund, that would be a right thing to do from their side.

well if you are speaking for yourself and majority in this forum also speaking for themself by saying that expierience is bad, isnt overal result rocky (i mean its logical...)? dont be so self-centered, that you are 1 of 10 lucky, it means still - rocky release.
Like here is example, if there is a flu epidemic in your city and you are not ill with flu, you will say there is no flu epidemic right?

right... seems the 'oddity' is that a hand full of people have everything working correctly lol pretty sad... this may be the proverbial straw that broke at least this camel's back.

It's running great here, except for the doubled up preset names in the browser for ST4 presets. The ST3 presets are listed normally. Have a ticket in q for IK support.Elektronisch wrote: Sun Feb 24, 2019 5:21 pm

Not seeing the triplicate names some have reported, but assume maybe a difference in Standard vs. Max? I have ST4 Standard.

I can't even get this to work even in the stand-alone version. Nothing. I pointed it where the instruments are stored, did a rescan. Nothing. It crashes the AU plugin authorization in Logic. I want my money back.

This forum is just a microcosm. I'm not diminishing the perspective of anyone here. I understand that people are upset, and they have every right to post about their experience. My experience has not been perfect either, but overall I'm very happy with the depth and quality of the sounds available in this product.

You may have hit on why it's happening. There are three .pak here files in the Library Info folder - one for each version of ST4 up to Max. I'm wondering if the database is reading each one and rematching instruments.zzz00m wrote: Sun Feb 24, 2019 5:47 pm Not seeing the triplicate names some have reported, but assume maybe a difference in Standard vs. Max? If you are brave, you could try renaming 2 of them temporarily to get them out of the way. At your own risk, of course.

Hmm, Norton Safe Web flags that first web site as having one or more Phishing attack threats.jcgam wrote: Sun Feb 24, 2019 5:12 pm Here's a link to the manual: https://we.tl/t-Yjr7Dke2Vx

How about, say, " Delay Grand Delicate" that is not in ST4 SE so it should only be listed twice. Or " Indipendence Bass" which is only in ST4 MAX and should only be listed once.Gamma-UT wrote: Sun Feb 24, 2019 6:00 pmYou may have hit on why it's happening. personal if i had known before that older imported ST2 Instruments are not really compatible and cant resaved to ST4 engine , if i had known before how they handle the instrument preset browser that you can not even choose or make own categories , if i had known before tat ST4 are so bad optimised that it takes too much RAM i didnt had buy it to be honest . i really dont know what IK have think when they created ST4 .
not to speak about all those reported issues . also imported ST2 Multis does not load and work at all and so on ...
for myselves money burnt ... and i never going to upgrade ever again to ST5 or an higher version , too much promises .

Some say the forums only reflect the views of the few who have problems. Others say there are lots of problems. Both statements are correct and don't contradict each other. Suppose that one per cent of all those who have downloaded the product have encountered problems with it and than only a few of those users have reported them here. That's a significant number of problems and indicates that IKM has work to do on this product.
