Putting an API monitor on Sampletank I see it requesting the following fonts (on Windows 10)

Segoe UI
Roboto Regular
Roboto Bold
Roboto Medium

Segoe UI is a Windows font but Roboto is a Google font that it doesn't appear IK is installing. You can download it from Google though. Perhaps installing it would stop Sampletank from getting these random fonts.

Instructions on how to download it can be found here:
https://www.maketecheasier.com/use-goog ... verywhere/

and the download site is here:
https://fonts.google.com/specimen/Robot ... ily=Roboto

(read the instruction page on how to get the Google page to give up the zip it's not "simple")

Extract all the fonts, select them and do a right click and Install or Install For All Users.

There are no font installs in the IK installer for Windows, maybe they just left it out?

After I installed the Roboto fonts I was able to reinstall the Redressed script font and Sampletank no longer was using it for the drop down menus.

I used to get the same thing with Sampletank 3 . Put a few instruments in the standalone and play and bzzzz crash the same in my daw.
I am waiting to see what the beta tester find out :)

Please report that issue to IK Multimedia Support - the use of a non-standard font may well be a mistake.

Those of us who opted to get the USB version, paid extra for shipping (AND convenience) have to wait to get the plug-in and sounds delivered.

It is going to defeat the purpose - if we had to do that, and then end up having to download the files online anyhow - if they aren't working/installing correctly.
The USB drive versions will have the application/plugin and sound installers (two separate installers) plus the sound content for the latter to use. The issues mentioned here with the two files or anything similar/related will not be an issue there.

Thanks for the reply, Peter! :tu:

Since this is quite a long thread (and there may be replication in others and/or the "Now Available" thread), I wanted to post a list and status of current issues.
  1. Edit - Four corrupted sound download ZIP/DMG files [replaced this morning, notated with "b" for users who already had downloaded the previous versions)
  2. Triple listing of certain instruments [will be resolved soon in update 4.0.2]
  3. Imported/Legacy instruments' location [adding new set of icons to clarify differentiation between ST4/ST3 imports and also modifying their placement within the interface to be more clear]
  4. Odd fonts issue [identified bug in the framework used, will implement a workaround until framework bug is fixed (it was also identified by other developers using this framework]
  5. Resizing issues [Must be done via handle on bottom left corner, and also must have a display size that will support resizing larger and note that VST2 does not support this feature]
  6. Multis location [Upcoming sound library updater will move factory multis to a better location and generally resolve this issue]
  7. "Installation Aborted" on Mac OS [under review and should be resolved in the near future]
  8. Crashing [these are being assessed as reported, and will be resolved directly in these cases]
  9. Strummer presets not visible at first [please work directly with IK Support as they should be able to resolve this directly in the cases where this occurs]
Version 4.0.2 will be completed and tested soon, I'd expect its release within a couple of days max [edit - don't go on my estimate, it is being tested so I am not 100% sure of that timeframe but it will indeed be soon and soon as possible].

Generally, the download and installation process suggestions are all heard and being reviewed as a continuation of internal discussions that were already ongoing about these processes.

Thank you Peter for taking all the "flak" here; it is appreciated.
Any timeline yet on USB shipping?

USB sticks should be on the way from what I'm aware.

Not too sure what you're trying to say but I own several VST2 plugins that allow click/drag resizing.

Perhaps you could clarify "must have a display size that will support resizing larger".

Has anyone been able to use sampletank 4 in flstudio 20 on windows 10 without crashes ?

But that seems to mean that the USB sticks won't contain all the fixes you described have been done, and still as of now are yet to be done, in your post above a couple of posts ago.

So I too am confused and concerned about what to do when I get the USB stick. Have to definitely resist the urge to just grab it when it comes and and start installing right when I get it, and instead check here about what we USB stick folks should do (i.e., e.g., if we need to download anything that's been updated to replace content that came on the USB stick, etc.).

Yeesh....this rollout.....

That's not good news. I use FL Studio 90% of the time and on Win 10. :?

I tried to find a demo but couldn't. I think ST demo versions are the Sampletank Free version and there isn't one for ST4 yet. Understandable but being able to test the engine on my systems first would either quell my fears of updating....or confirm them....

Hey Peter, I'm assuming there is no difference between the 4 MAX downloads and pre-existing ST3 installs and libraries like Cinematic Percussion and Syntronic. I don't need to download and install those for any reason do I? ST4 sees and plays them. I just want to make sure there isn't any difference between the old libraries that I've already installed and the downloads listed on my ST4 Max resources dropdown.
If you have to ask, you can't afford the answer
