Peter - IK Multimedia wrote: Mon Feb 25, 2019 6:47 pm Since this is quite a long thread (and there may be replication in others and/or the "Now Available" thread), I wanted to post a list and status of current issues.
  • 5. Resizing issues [Must be done via handle on bottom left corner, and also must have a display size that will support resizing larger and note that VST2 does not support this feature]
Version 4.0.2 will be completed and tested soon, I'd expect its release within a couple of days max.

Generally, the download and installation process suggestions are all heard and being reviewed as a continuation of internal discussions that were already ongoing about these processes.
Peter, thanks for the update!

FYI, my take on the resizing issue is this:

The resizing handle is located on the bottom right corner (not left). And I can resize the ST4 VST2 in Ableton Live 10, so I am not clear that I fully understand the unsupported comment.

Peter - IK Multimedia wrote: Mon Feb 25, 2019 7:02 pm USB sticks should be on the way from what I'm aware.
But that seems to mean that the USB sticks won't contain all the fixes you described have been done, and still as of now are yet to be done, in your post above a couple of posts ago.

So I too am confused and concerned about what to do when I get the USB stick. Have to definitely resist the urge to just grab it when it comes and and start installing right when I get it, and instead check here about what we USB stick folks should do (i.e., e.g., if we need to download anything that's been updated to replace content that came on the USB stick, etc.).

Yeesh....this rollout.....
The 4.0.2 update should only affect the application installer, and that is a relatively small download by itself.

I would imagine the only hefty downloads would be for replacement of any corrupted sound content files. Peter only mentioned a couple of those.

The USB sticks will be fine and should now be on the way. There's no need for concern. Install away when you receive it.

That is not normal behavior, the testing team would have tested in FL Studio. Please report this to IK Support who will attempt to recreate based on your system details as closely as possible and will assist you to get your issue resolved.

Thank you but I do have to note that I did edit my reply as there are four b versions instead of two, that's my bad there sorry.

Not see any b notation here (?) Could you please specify the ones you mean?

At this stage I'd settle for an update that is stable in Cubase 10 and Gig Performer. Happy to upload error logs, but after ST3 being unworkable in Gig Performer my confidence is low. sorry.

One thing that I can see that is really, really annoying is the decrementing countdown to when the media will no longer be available to download. So far that media still has acknowledged errors. Please do the decent thing and stop that until you have a workable product.

In this time of cheap cloud storage I cannot imagine how a single site for multiple users could possibly warrant such a '90s stance. I wasn't told about that when I preordered so I took it as a given that in 2019 this would be up forever unless IK MM were to cease trading.

On a positive, in the 10 minutes or so I played with the C7 pianos before ST4 took Cubase 10 out I was very impressed. I think that the content might actually be great. I'm going to try running this in JBridge 64-64 so that when it crashes at least it won't destroy an unsaved project.

If it worked properly I think that ST4 would be the must have go-to rompler.

Please refresh your User Area as any sounds that were updated will have a "b" at the end. Other users have verified they see them (it is four, I edited the initial post to reflect this). If you don't have MAX you may not be seeing these files as they may not pertain to your particular version.

These would be two woodwinds and two strings sound library files.

I don't need to download and install those for any reason do I? ST4 sees and plays them. I just want to make sure there isn't any difference between the old libraries that I've already installed and the downloads listed on my ST4 Max resources dropdown.
If you already have the libraries you do not need to download and install them. You can point SampleTank 4 to your SampleTank 3 sound library path (as SampleTank 4 now supports linking to multiple sound library locations) and you'll have access to them.

keywords being 'would have' i have stated this more than once. none of my plugins work (crashes) only standalone and it crashes when changing presets. i have ALSO listed the DAWs i use and the OS i use so this does not seem to be an isolated case on FL Studio. i am pretty sure i have seen others elsewhere on the net stating it is crashing FL Studio for them too (as well as other DAWs)

funny thing is.. FL Studio is not recognizing VST3 but it does see VST2 version while Studio One sees the VST3 version but not the VST2. as for Pro Tools crashing with ST4... i have yet to get it through a plugin scan since installing ST4 :(

i will contact support if it continues after a few fixes but with the max influx of problems reported from everywhere i refrain from piling on support... i am sure they have their hands full at this time. cheers

Wow, I guess it should have taken less time to get every phrased picked apart. I said would have meaning during the process of course they would have tested on FL Studio.

Just so nobody can pick it apart further: IK TESTING DID INDEED TEST ON FL STUDIO. Also, I'll add that they have not been able to recreate the reported (I believe two) issues where ST4 was crashing FL Studio, even using near-identical setups to the users who reported it but are gathering more information to make sure these users get up and running. I hope that is all crystal clear now.

Also see my list. That doesn't exactly look like an "influx" of any kind. Especially when half were reported by only a few (in some cases ONE) user.

Post

I can repost the list if necessary. It's quite short (especially the confirmed few global issues).

Post

well then i will contact support and see if they can figure it out. as for the amount of reports maybe some were like me and just waiting. and by the way... as to 'picking apart'... i pay attention to everything and especially terminology used. i have worked with many judges, lawyers, prosecutors, defense attorneys and law enforcement officials in my life. it is quite beneficial. cheers

p.s. i meant no offense

Well this isn't a court of law {though it can feel like it] but I apologize for being sensitive to that habit as I probably have similar habit(s) so... no more projection from me if possible. There should now be order in the court (from Peter@IK at least)!

p.s. - I do realize that, thank you. Sincerely.

lol ... i really like you Peter. i admire your endurance, your backbone AND your humor. cheers mate

And I *may* need to amend the 4.0.2 release timeframe but I will keep everyone posted as much as possible. It won't be a long time but I just realized I should probably refrain from estimates like that. Though that IS certainly better than "soon" I just will try to keep expectations set correctly.

It is coming soon, though. It is being tested, and I shouldn't estimate during testing. That's my bad.
