Yes of course. I opened ticket 305698 on Sunday.Peter - IK Multimedia wrote: Tue Feb 26, 2019 10:14 pmI don't see that from the team as being reported to them and verified as a global issue. I hope it has been reported directly too as it would be solvable directly by support if so, I'm sure.jcgam wrote: Tue Feb 26, 2019 10:12 pm Thanks for the summary of issues Peter! There's one more, which has been confirmed by another user here: In the phraser we only see one section under ST4, "Acoustic Drums". Now this may not be a "problem" but it certainly seems unusual.
Edit - but I'm asking anyway, too, just FYI.
SampleTank 4 on the way

I can't say 100% (pun most certainly intended) but I don't think you will. We've had some reports with custom scaling causing the issue but not all of the the people with custom scaling experience this. For example folks on Surface Pro units will almost certainly use custom scaling since it is recommended and at least in my old age completely necessary but we haven't seen problems there.rrichard63 wrote: Tue Feb 26, 2019 10:41 pmPeter, I have a custom scaling setting in Windows 7 -- font size = 110% instead of the default 100%. The resizing function in my Syntronik and T5 Max plugins appears to work normally with this custom setting. Is it safe to assume that ST4 will also work?? Or are the software development frameworks different, making this a risky assumption?Peter - IK Multimedia wrote: Tue Feb 26, 2019 7:30 pm

Also, my display resolution is 2560 x 1080. Is that enough for resizing to work properly?
Thanks in advance.

Hi Peter - I did report it two days ago, but I don't know how widespread this one is - the only other person I know of that is experiencing it is ellsworth. It is different than the legacy import issue for sure. The ticket I logged is [#228056]Peter - IK Multimedia wrote: Tue Feb 26, 2019 9:08 pmHave you reported it to the support team? I don't have it on my list of global verified issues so I'd suggest opening a ticket if you haven't already done so. Note that the multiple paths and SampleTank 3 libaries (including legacy imports) should be working, but there is a note on the list of issues about how imported libraries are shown in the list(s) which may be similar but doesn't sound like the same exact issue you're having.ellsworth wrote: Tue Feb 26, 2019 7:33 pmThanks for the info. I expect iK will get it sorted out soon. I'm on a Mac, so this seems to be a global problem. I figure I could just copy the ST3 content over to my ST4 drive, but I don't really want to do that.Mkdaws32@gmail.com wrote: Tue Feb 26, 2019 7:25 pm @ellsworth

great!!!!!abernathy wrote: Sun Feb 24, 2019 7:34 pm Sad that IK obviously didn't do proper beta testing and rushed this out, because ST4 has so much potential. If they had slowed down and let a few of us (for example) test this, they would've known that instrument listings are duplicated (how could they have missed that??) and that the browser kinda sucks (I choose Guitars and there isn't an Acoustic filter? Shouldn't Piano and Electric Piano be separate categories? Where the hell are my nice folders of Imported Instruments???).
But, I feel bad that all I've done is complain... 4.0.0 hasn't crashed or had memory problems on MY iMac (4 GHz i7, 24GB, all SSD) - sorry for folks that are having those problems. There are some nice new instruments in there. I'll try to attach a song I quickly redid with all ST4 instruments (except for the weird ST2 Berimbao that starts the track). 6 instances of ST4 with some UAD Neve & Ampex.

Beyond semantics, I recommend future major releases go into
a hybrid 'public beta' period, where purchasers know it is beta,
and can still buy at intro pricing, until the full release date.
U-he manage to do this with all singing and dancing, as the last
bugs and easy-to-add feature requests are processed in public beta,
albeit with megabyte sized downloads as opposed 250 gigabytes,
so in your case, perhaps the hybrid beta
would include just one instrument from each folder of the full install,
so both the engine and the file system could be beta-tested at reasonable
sized downloads, giving purchasers a rough estimate of general instrument quality,
features, and workflow, hopefully inspiring more people to buy early.
And thanks for extending the intro price
mi dos centavos
Cheers

Seven years ago I had ST2 (32 bit) running on an old iMac but I did not upgrade to ST3. Now I've just purchased ST4 Max without ever having used ST3. What I'm hearing is the ST3 stuff I've just acquired with ST4 max runs on ST4 but without the advantages of sounds developed specifically for ST4. Is there any actual advantage to loading ST3 sounds on ST4 if ST3 is available?

If you like a sound that isn't yet replicated in V4.x,rainguitar wrote: Wed Feb 27, 2019 12:24 am Seven years ago I had ST2 (32 bit) running on an old iMac but I did not upgrade to ST3. assuming plenty of disk space, just keep it.
It still will have an excellent effects chain, the ST3 controls
and multi-timbrality, so not exactly chopped liver.

Some of the sounds in ST3 are actually great. I like having a wider variety of sounds to choose from. Also the GUI of ST4 is much, much better.rainguitar wrote: Wed Feb 27, 2019 12:24 am Seven years ago I had ST2 (32 bit) running on an old iMac but I did not upgrade to ST3. I would say the two best options would either be ST4 SE if on a tight budget, and just use the ST3 library with the new UI, or choose ST4 MAX and get it all.jcgam wrote: Wed Feb 27, 2019 1:35 amSome of the sounds in ST3 are actually great. ST4 standard will just tease one with the fact that you could have had MAX for a few more bucks, lol!!!
So yep, the new ST4 interface is a winner! And the ST3 sounds are excellent in it with the new effects.

Hey Peter, I have been having a library path issue similar to what these users have been discussing. I haven't reported it to support yet, because I may have found a workaround. The problem resulted in the error message that the content could not be located in the specified path, etc.Peter - IK Multimedia wrote: Tue Feb 26, 2019 9:08 pmHave you reported it to the support team? I use two library paths, (1) "SampleTank 3", which is everything from my former ST3 install as is, and (2) "SampleTank 4", everything else new to ST4.
When I first installed ST4, I got the ST3 library working in it first, and all was OK at that point. ST3 instruments loaded and played fine.
But then every time I downloaded and installed any ST 4 instrument content to the new ST4 drive path, the result was that the Sound Content path options in the ST4 settings UI would wipe out my "SampleTank 3" library path and overwrite it as "SampleTank 4", resulting in duplicate entries for the "SampleTank 4" library path. Any time after that when I tried to load an ST3 instrument, the error message pointed to the ST4 library, which is what prompted me to check the settings again.
My workaround is to go into settings and click "Remove" for both paths. Then add "SampleTank 3" first, followed by "SampleTank 4". Then close and allow the database to rebuild.
And then "voila", everything just works!

It is a big that they said would be fixed. He's just offering a workaround while we wait.
