My Feedback

Music - 8
Instruments - 10
Performance - 10
Mix - 10

Overall - 9.5

Comments: Always know I'm in for an enjoyable listen. I think this is one of your better mixes, if that's even possible. Musically, a bit stagnant but the subtle changes in the arrangement throughout really help it a lot so that it isn't boring. Love the way you worked the vocal samples into it.

A minimal retro gem with a polished mix. :phones:

told ya it was minimal! :scared:
but did you pick up on the drum programming? the ride tinkles, zaps, kick and esp the snare?
all plotted out manually note by note. velocity adjusted individually. :borg:

Like the rhythmic element that comes in at 2:09
Great mix balance...
I think I only detected one chord change (1:40). Correct me if I'm wrong.
Would have loved a bridge where there was a different chord sequence, missing the root chord out.
"Thats are scared as I've ever been, ooof!" or as my friends in Minnesota would say , "ooofta"
Like how you don't take yourself too seriously. Thats always a good sign.
:tu: liked it.

yes, it was bordering on the no chords psytrance zone....
but i felt there was enough going on with all the percussion and sound effect variations..
to hold interest to the end as wags noted.

but glad you stopped by and liked. ah wooooooffff! :phew:

I just kind of took it all in as a whole. Arrangement and instrumentation were great as was the mix. I tend not to pick things apart like a lot of people do.

its just a song. all too often we suppress the desire to express ourselves
fearing judgement and criticism. i dont really care what anyone thinks of my tunes.
i get on a roll with an idea and just throw it out there when i've had enough
of it, or when another idea developes before i'm done with it.
while i know my stuff is not everyone's cup... you people who's cup it is,are welcome
to enjoy it like i do.

That's how it should be - at least for my taste. Could easily be seen/work as the preludium stage of a hard and pushing (main) part B. Well done!

One of my favorite library books when i was in grammar school was one that had page after page of drawings of a boy looking around as he walked in his town. the details of everything that was drawn, from the ants crawling on the street to the screws on a mailbox. the detail fascinated me. this same fascination to detail is evident in my music to this day,

Eh, maybe that's why I'll never be any good at this. For me, music has always been very simple. Do I like it? Yes, no. I don't listen to songs and try to pick apart "Did he just do a triplet on that hi hat in between two snare hits, one dead center and the other on the rim?" Music stops being fun for me when I try to analyze every single beat and note and nuance.

Does it have a melody I like?
Does it have a harmony I like?
Is the mix clean?

That's about it. Everything else is unimportant and thus, I tend not to stress over it when doing my own songs. When the day comes that I start doing that and making music stops being fun, I stop making music.

It's that simple.

when i was working in IT i paid lots of attention to detail
in what i did, and i enjoyed it so much i can't believe
i was being paid to do it. for me its almost a game
trying to outdo myself every next time.
detail, its what makes a 3000x3000 pixel image
of a hot chick in a bikini nicer to look at than
a blocky 3x3 pixel one, haha

Nothing wrong with doing 'simple' things.

The difficulty is to do it right. :ud:

while staring at mine!
