This release and all the errors with the half baked code has been awful to read about.

But this is pretty nice. My fav thing on the thread.

Looking forward to maybe trying this software in a year or two when it is on discount and stable.

I understand the frustration with that part of the process, and since the overwhelming majority of issues people have had are downloading and installation, that is definitely a priority to resolve in the future.
I'm not sure if anybody else received anything, but other than your comments on here I've heard zero, zilch, zip from IKM :(

Got my IK USB drive today. The install went smoothly. Loaded it in S1 with no issues. The sounds in it are pretty good. They have some movement and emotion to the few guitars and strings I played. I like the pianos too. Good stuff IK... Big thanks to the KVR beta testers for finding the bugs lol..........

While I have dropped it totally, and would suggest that in general, I have to agree about just waiting at least a year or two, then some of the bugs at least will be fixed, (but most certainly not all), and also it will be clear what works IRL, and what doesn't,.... so avoid IK if possible,.... and if you think its absolutely not possible for some reason, then at least wait longest possible, and get it with discount right before the next version is released.

Why being a test-rabbit each and every time, why participate in a joke at all,.....

Very nice. I really like the sound of the guitar; "grungeworthy" (is that a word)? :band:

Dmitry Petrenko wrote: Tue Mar 05, 2019 8:27 am I will add one more fat minus of Sampletank in 2019 - unfortunately I discovered that, like ST3, it only involves one processor core. There is no multithreading!
I refused because of this reason from Falcon, which with one or two patches of sufficient complexity can make any modern computer surrender.
Don't know if ST4 is speced to support multicore, (like Halion is), I only know that ST3 did consume far more CPU than what I found reasonable, like the code was poorly written, and I can see that for Dmitry multicore is not working IRL on ST4, no matter what is claimed, or not claimed, officially
Ahh - this explains why I get more mileage out of ST3 by using multiple instances!
Not all synths does support muticore ,... but obviously a big multitimbral workstation should do it

Halion does support multi-cpu for same reason

As far as I remember even the ancient Emulator X3 did support multi-cpu

But Sampletank seeminly does not have it, and anyway, its now clear that it doesn't work IRL

Been looking at specs and I cant find any info either, so at least it seems they are not making any false promises

But sure a minus, and something to consider, especially in a workhorse of this nature that is already known to be very cpu-consuming,.. for what it is

It all indicates, that despite they call it a "new" program, the basic core-engine is builded up arround the same old ST3 code, as it makes no sense to build up someting new, non-multi, this way for release in 2019

Arpegiator, Keep latched note engaged when locked and switching sounds. As is now, when locked and switch sounds notes need to be retriggered.

i must admit this sounds awesome. i would even go as far as to say that it sounds better than majority of demos on IK Multimedia site. IK, you should totally hire this dude/dudette to do demos :D
I don't know what to write here that won't be censored, as I can only speak in profanity.

You are too kind! I’m glad everyone is enjoying the demo and that it shows the potential of ST4.

Oh - and just for the record, I don’t have any affiliation with IK ;)

Well, it is a nice sounding demo, but as a guitar player myself I can sense from miles this is not a real guitar, especially in the arpeggiated parts. But it is good for skecthing ideas.
With that said, the electric piano and organs are really nice.
However, still crushes after 3 minutes for me.
Someone gave me an advice a few pages ago to try using the fixed sized buffers in FL Studio's wrapper, well, I already used that, didn't help.

Peter, I appreciate your efforts here, but I don't have the time nor will to be your company's beta tester, I guess I'm busy enough producing music like rest of the guys here.

Writing "I wouldn't call that ridiculously long at all" is very unprofesionnal in my opinion, given the huge amount of people reportng about crushes and bugs, I hope there will be a full working fix in the upcoming months, otherwise I will demand a full refund.
