You offer a USB version but you don't send it to those who bought it!
(Remember my order date: 13.12.2018!)

They have indeed been shipping out steadily so please let me know if your status in My Orders is unchanged, and your order number, via PM and I'll be happy to have someone look into it.

Edit - received the two I was sent, and have relayed that information to see what's happened.
IK should probably have considered sending an e-mail with expected delivery dates to customers. I e-mailed support about 3 times to find out but just got nonsense answers back (as quickly as possible etc). I finally received an e-mail yesterday, and the drive arrived in the mail today. I don´t mind waiting for a physical delivery but at the very least I´d like to know when I can expect delivery.

My 2 cents

I got the same email.

My FedEx tracking number said it was going to be here tomorrow March 6th, but then I also got an email update from FedEx saying it's not going to be here until Monday. March 11th now...
Shitty

can’t you download it from your user area?
You only get access to the download area once you receive the authorization code in the package. I think IK should have given everyone the serial upon payment, so that we could optionally have downloaded the product.

That makes sense if you pay extra for the usb, as it stands aren’t they (the download and the usb) the same price?
So basically everyone gets the download with the option to pay for a usb.

Well, I had to pay $12.99 for the USB shipping (Florida)

Hi all,

I've just been informed of an odd policy that we are not supposed to post open-ticket problems on the IKM forums even if we have a simple workaround or simply want to find out if anyone else is having a similar problem, so I'll post it here to document a problem I ran into which I did report to IKM Support.

Applies to USB Drive version 4.0.2 and Win 10 Pro. Standalone mode and VST3 mode.

Several of us have found an extra "SampleTank 4" in the assumed folder name for the location of samples ("...SampleTank 4\Samples\SampleTank 4...") which results in failure to find the samples for any instrument tested.

Workaround: If you create a new "SampleTank 4" folder inside the "Samples" folder, in parallel with the categories folders, you can then select and drag each category folder (or all at once) and move them into this new folder. Then the program, which was undoubtedly set up unintentionally that way, can locate the samples.

ALSO, although Peter IK said that Update 1.2 fixes the non-authorization problem for guitars, this is not what happened in my case. The problematic guitars are still not authorized. Although the database was rebuilt when I attempted to run Update 1.2, and although it posted a message that the update succeeded, it ran so fast I'm suspicious that it didn't do anything other than tell ST4 that the database needs rebuilding.

And just to be clear, Update 1.2 also didn't fix the extra-folder name problem mentioned first.

Regards,
Dave Clark

No, you should PM your ticket number to me or Ryan_IK if you have an open ticket so we can have someone take a look (also point out on the IK forum now, and Ryan_IK is closer to the tech/testing team so he typically has a few tricks up his sleeve) . This is especially helpful when your ticket is merely in the queue and not actually being worked on. Once the support team is working with you, that's a good sign and you'll likely be up and running soon after but in the mean time, people will chime in and hopefully Ryan or myself can give any ticket that's "aging" a bump if necessary. You can PM that to me there or here, I'll see what I can do though it is the weekend currently. Thanks.

Odd, though, that the guitar issue was not fixed with the 1.2 update, as that's mostly what that update does. That one is a head-scratcher for me at least, but the support folks would be able to get deeper into that. Perhaps that indicates there's something else going on.

Ah, and with regard to that scan going way too quickly, I can't recall if you've already removed your sound library location(s) from settings and then re-added it/them? That may fix it and either force a rescan or you can manually perform one afterward.

https://1drv.ms/u/s!Aj_MmOweb0sAgYpT7rJGLg2f6zTQGw

It's just a quick little original idea I was jamming around. I opted for using all "real" instruments (no synths or sound effects) and tried to make the mix "live-ish" sounding. It's done completely inside of a single instance of ST4, using only instruments new in ST4 standard (I don't have MAX) - no older ST3 content. Aside from a little subtle EQ (T-Racks Classic EQ), < 3db buss compression (Waves SSL comp) and a transparent brickwall limiter (Waves L1+) all effects were achieved within the single ST4 instance.

Instruments used:

Track 1: Vintage Rock Kit w/British Channel, EG-PQ, Bus Comp, Convoroom (Studio A2), Room Reverb

Track 2: Black LP Full Keyswitch (main guitar muted and sustained notes - neck pickup only) w/ Channel Strip, British Tube Lead, Black 76, Digital Delay

Track 3: Black LP Down-Up Stroke (background power chords - way in background - bridge pickup only) w/ Channel Strip, Modern Tube Lead, White 2A, Chorus C1, Reverb

Track 4: 1973 Stage EP Bright Map w/Channel Strip, EG-PQ, Opto Tremolo, Tube Reverb

Track 5: 4001 Sunburst Fingered (Bass) w/Channel Strip, EG-PQ, Black 75, Chorus C1, SVT Classic

Track 6: Rack 4 Draws 3 (Organ) w/Channel Strip, Sat X, Chorus C1, Spring, Rotary
Sounds great overdriver(what some call edge tone) is hard to get with amp sims/samples guitars.
The bass drums and organ sound rich.

I received my usb stick today (well, on Friday) after FedEx revised the delivery date for the 3rd time. I wasn't supposed to get it until Monday the 11th.

Since I already had the full Sampletank 3 Max/plus Miroslav, I had gone ahead and moved everything to an external NVMe SSD drive (on USB C).

The program itself was super easy to install, and no problem whatsoever. My USB stick came with 4.02 version.

With the ST4 Max USB stick, I just lined up two Explorer windows - to check that my files matched the ST3 files on the USB stick. I only updated one ST3 file. Saved a ton of time by not having to reinstall all the Sampletank 3 file.

For the ST4 files, I tried the installer, which worked for a bit, but the Sabrent NVMe drive case I bought came with a cheap cable that has an USB 3 to USB C adapter on it, and it cuts out once in awhile when transferring huge amounts of files. This I learned from the ST3 content I had moved earlier...

After the installer cut out (because of the cable), I just checked to see what file was not complete - and deleted it. I copied and pasted the rest of the sample content - one folder at a time without a hitch. Again, I checked every folder against its counterpart on the USB stick to make sure nothing was missing in the transfer/copy.

Somehow, there was an extra name added to my Sampletank 3 folder, like somebody recently mentioned. That was an easy fix, although I could still point ST4 to the second part (Sampletank 3/Sampletank 3 Content) folder and it made no difference. I just made the structure look the same as the ST4 folder. Cut and paste content into the upper folder, delete the now empty 2nd one. Done

ST4 instruments scanned right in, but I couldn't figure out why that ST3 instruments weren't scanning in until I noticed the double name. No big deal.

It all took about 3hrs to install and configure (avg transfer rate from the stick was 32mbs).

I noticed that there is barely any multi-core activity, but my CPU usage wasn't too bad on single instruments, even some of the bigger ones. I do notice that it's taking up a third of my 32GB memory.

I am using an MSI GT72 gaming notebook, with an i7 6820HK quad core 2.7 GHz oc'd @ 3.7 GHz. System drive is NVME Samsung 960 Pro 1TB. Also has 1TB 7200 drive, 2TB 5400 USB3 external, NVMe (on USB C) external Samsung 950 Pro 512GB. RME Babyface Pro interface.

ST3 Max, Syntronik Deluxe, and ST4 Max load very quick. Everything I tried and heard so far, sounds great and just worked. Most of what I have played around with was in the stand-alone. The only DAW (I have a few...) I opened up to try it in so far is PreSonus Studio One 4. No crashes there yet, but I will no doubt be using this with DAWs in the next few days.

So far, after all that I have read in here, I am happy to not feel worried anymore, and am very impressed with the samples and sounds in ST4.

I do expect for there to be more CPU/memory/power usage because of the processing power that ST4 has included, and the quality of sounds it is producing.

I would like for there to be some improvement on use of multi-core processing, and also want to hear more about the high usage of memory/vs use of disk streaming.

I bought The sampletank 4 MAX upgrade. Looking through my st4 downloads.
I see specific Sampletank 3 folders. So I am not going to install the ST3 sound content
into my ST4 folder.I am also not going to install other stuff I will not use(MPCE2 EDMstuff ECT...)
Does anyone see any problems with this install method?
The ST4 Plugin does not replace the ST 3 plugin correct?

The ST3 vsti is not replaced.
The way I have it is all of the ST3 content is installed in the place I have the current ST3 content and only the ST4 content is in the ST4 content folder.
If you have to ask, you can't afford the answer

Anyone who has PMd me their order information, I have sent your information to the people who handle your orders. I may not hear until Monday in some cases (if I received your information late Friday For example, the Italian office would have been closed at that time). I will share any information I get as soon as I know.

Edit: @flonky - I was told yours was to ship yesterday evening from Italy and you would directly receive tracking information. I take it you have not judging from your posts so I’m following up. Please verify you don’t see a status change in My Orders yet. Thank you.

Edit 2: In the mean time shot out a wider net here at IK to see if I can get more information and such to help before the beginning of the week. Will keep you posted.

Post

Peter do you see any issues with my(post above) ST4 upgrade installation procedure?
