Ahhhhhh, I'll try that tomorrow. Kind of defeats the purpose of paying for a USB version and waiting 2.5 weeks after the release date to get it. Especially if there is 25 gb of not included content.

St4 stand alone still stops working while building the database. I bought the max upgrade so
I tried to use American acoustic in st3.Up dated st3 to the latest version. St3 sees american acoustic.
When I click to open A message says authorize or restore sounds in custom shop.Restore my sounds did not work.

On the arp, the scroll wheel to move the step’s semitones, currently you must click it and click the semitone increment as the only input method.

I am still waiting for my USB 4 Max to arrive....it seems a lot of people are struggling with installation, has anyone had a good install - first time up and playing (setting my expectations!)

Anyone else having a problem with a complete rebuild of the database on every startup? It takes about 5 minutes or so.
Needless to say I havn´t made any changes to the content.

This is really starting to look like a car crash release, I may not even bother trying to install it until there is some more positive feedback, I just don't have the time for all this

Same here. No order update despite contacting support, also contacted support regarding changing my delivery address as i'm moving, no reply.

I've actually lost all interest in Sampletank after reading the experience of other users on this forum, think i'll just sack it off and come back in 6 months and see where it's at.
I could of done with putting this money elsewhere (non-music related) but this whole experience has taught me one thing, life is too short to get wound up by all this and I've got enough software already.

To IK this is just another "normal" release, they did "learn" nothing from previous releases, but has grown their own culture that this standard is acceptable, thats why "sorry" doesn't make sense anylonger, and one out of several reasons why I stepped out after ST3, and the latest Tracks sale-mess

Was a customer for 15+ years since ST1 and first Tracks,.... not proud of it

Fortunately non of my other software gives my any real problems,... only Izotope some small issues that gets solved immidiately

Oh, agreed! I think the message is loud and clear that IK has some work to do - but they are not the only ones.

Just a constructive observation here.

In my opinion, one area that IK could improve on is setting realistic expectations for the product specs. I have no real problem that it is resource hungry - it has a lot of stuff going on - but I think the required specs posted for ST4 are woefully inadequate.

While my experience is overall positive with 16gb ram and an i7, I can’t imagine running ST4 reliably with 4 gb and a Core2 Duo.

Minimum specs of an i5 and 8gb ram with suggested specs of i7 and 16 gb + an ssd for the large samples seem much more reasonable to me. Telling people that it will run in 4gb of ram is asking for problems, I think.

Also the lack of multi-core support should be made very clear, and highlighted both in specs, and plain text on product-page, especially considered we are dealing with a very big multitimbral workstation, furhermore very cpu-consuming, for what it is.

Not many would expect this not to be sorted out in a new 2019 workstation release

Being forced to open several instances of ST like people have mentioned in this thread, to work around this issue, and get load distributed better in todays CPU, should really not be nessesary

Seems to indicate that basic parts of the core audio-engine, is just recykled old code from ST3
