I never liked fathoms sound, in the long run you will end up buying something else so just go for serum now.

Based on what?

Icarus has a better overall editor.
Hive has the Uhm scripts which provide possibilities and a sound quality Serum cannot.
Wavemapper2 does some impressive morphing not possible in Serum.
Serum does not have frame interpolation. That is a big drawback.

Serum is a good synth, but not at all the best. In a bunch of ways, Icarus is a better WT synth.

Oh. and to be somewhat on topic... Synthmaster One is within the requested price. A few dollars would not be what made me decide on a synth, but hey, there it is.
Because it has built-in OTT 😱😱🤯🤯

Well, and the fact that the UI is so user-friendly that a even a brexiteer can operate it.

If my serum copy was not nfr it would be the first one out the door. But i concur it's better to buy one decent WT synth instead of deciding only on the basis of low price.
I would stay away from Codex. Much better options than this one.

You forgot to mention the prerequisite, I think you know what I mean. :D
Hive reminds me more of a wavetable player with the possibility of creating but only for those that have the necessary math skill to back it all up.

I agree though Hive's possibilities or potential go beyond Serum's.

Just downloaded Surge.
Pigments looks and sounds amazing.
Will keep an eye on the other synths.

Post

Pigments has rent to own.
Existing Collection owners got it for 69 euro. Just saying.

Surge to help make some of the coolest organ patches.

Codex is a cpu hog and the preset system is a nightmare if you want to roll your own. I do like the sound though.
We jumped the fence because it was a fence not be cause the grass was greener.

It’s biased on a combination of a few things.
Mainly my oppinion that I was sharing with him. I literally said “to me” it’s the best, in my post.

Icarus is a mess to me, it’s not intuitive at all, it’s a bit laggy, tried it a few times, never bought.
The scripting thing, with all due respect, is complelty worthless to me. Don’t get me wrong you wanna do that stuff have fun but that’s not my league,
Legit never heard of Wavemapper but I’ll check it out of it has morphing that impressive.

Serum is powerful, it’s easy to use, it’s fun to use, it sounds very nice, it has great flexibility A large user base and a large array of presets, that’s why I consider it to be the best.
Alain steve is a class act who treats his customers well. That’s as well.

Oh and OTT :hihi:
The post above this is likely bait, viewer discretion is advised.

I wanted to download Surge (64 bit) but every link I click on just opens up a new page in my browser. I can't find anything that actually downloads the dll, zip or whatever it is. So I gave up.

You won't like Wavemapper if workflow is an issue. His synths take a while to figure out, especially the preset system, which is almost as bad as Reaktor's if not worse.

In short, it's not easy to work with.

Have you tried a different browser?

Ah, well I never even saw that page. The page I went to (from Google) was literally all this open source mumbo jumbo with every link taking you to more open source mumbo jumbo and no actual download.
