Anything else quite like Goodhertz mid side plugin? I know many plugins have mid side controls.

Voxengo MSED is my go-to for simple stuff.

Post

I'll second the above. MSED sits on my master channel as a default.

MSED is great freebie, its transparent tool for controlling or separating mid-side and left-right components, plus invert phase.
Goodherz Mid Side however, is made for an effect.

To be honest no there isn't anything quite like Goodheartz Mid Side plugin it got a very interesting feature set. I was close to buying looking for a plug that did multi band mid side panning and luckily at the time Soundspots Axis plugin went on sale at PIB for a steal of a price considering what it's capabale of.

Yeah I like GH mid side don't like price for what it does

I would like to know how you are using Goodhertz Midside that MSED wouldn't work for you.

For channel and mid/side management I like to use Hornet Track Utility 2:

It is not a mid/sider specifically, but it has nice tools to flip sides, polarity and adjust width. I also keep the Voxengo around but since Track Utility it doesn't see much use.

A1StereoControl is an impressive plugin. I don't use it much but when I've played with it it has been enjoyable. This is probably the closest I can think of to the goodhertz

Well the mid side function allows for chorus almost effect and with pan sort of cool. But I see this plugin as a $20 top price need. Not 79

Actually tested bx_saturator and bxshedspread together and its close to GH Mid side. Need more tweaking

If we are talking chorusing-like, I have a global bus called "widen" and it's 3 plugins: a doubler (tripler actually), the micropitch effect from Eventide UltraChannel, and then a 150% widener to spread the output. Freaking tasty on guitars, vocals, etc, for adding heft and mojo.

HASound MSLR is what I usually use for mid-side.

MidSide has a unique combination of otherwise relatively common functions. I don’t think there’s a 1:1 alternative available.
Although you can get near with a flexible clean eq like pro-q and a stereo widener.

I don’t agree that it should be $20, but I do find it hard to dish out the $80 when I realize I can approximate its functionality with what I have (better workflow not withstanding)

In Ableton & Logic Pro X you can make your own m/S funktion to your plugins.

Is there a good free or cheap multiband mid/side that you can load other effects into?

I'm looking at this but it's a little pricey and only multiband, not mid/side...
