Start with developers who got some cool freebies:
GlitchMachines
Melda
Puremagnetik
Freakshow Industries

And for ultimate creativity, I'm just getting into KiloHearts Snap Heap and wow, can you basically get any effect you want using this thing.

I sort of agree with this statement, but at the same time, you do have to give credit to the few plugin devs who have made something unique. In that sense, claiming that "there are no creative effects" is downplaying their efforts.
(It was a joke) :ud:

My bad in that case. :P

Haven't actually tried these myself but they looked pretty interesting from the demo videos.

A noise gate. Use a slow attack to tame the transient.

...or go with MuLab. Yes, it's a DAW, but its modules are made for creativity. Polyrythms are easy to set up and you can get all kinds of crazy results from new additions to MuLab 7 and 8. I don't think any other DAW comes near it in terms of creativity.

...and then of course you can use any module you want (or external VST effects) to create your own effect (=MUX), using just drag and drop. Look at these videos and you'll see why it is so cool!

This is a MUX made by myself. Nothing fancy really, but I like it as it brings together all kinds of modules that I usually would use. You could do much more esoteric things here, with step sequencer modules or so.

Note that you don't need MuLab to use the "MUXes" - MUX is a freestanding product as well.

All mentioned. Ha!

I am partial to Tantra, GlitchMachines, Unfiltered Audio, and Cableguys myself though...

Just checked back to see if anyone had mentioned this yet (and I'm not surprised to see it already mentioned) - I don't own it, but it's on my wish list and I will definitely pick it up at some point.

To me it seems like something that can cover the gamut from mild to extreme reshaping and everything in between.
Sweet child in time...

Glitch2 looks really interesting. Can you do gated filters also? I didn't see a "filter" tab.

Molekular is cool but I don't want to deal with Reaktor. . I just want a quick-to-load plugin.

Hmmm anyone worked with MRhythmizer? It's on sale 50% off right now. Combined with the MFreeFXBundle, it would probably do the trick.

Post

Just purchased the MFreeFXBundle and MRhythmizer together with a 20% off coupon plus 10 credits for signing up for newsletter. Everything for $60. . . I am a super happy camper!!!
