I'm French, but not religious. I still love medieval gothic architecture and architecture in general. Notre Dame is one of the places I would have liked to visit.

Apparently, when my family visited England in the early 80s and we visited St George's Chapel I told my parents that I could spend the rest of my life in that building.
Some stuff and things!

I'm definitely donating to the rebuild fund.

In other news my eBay friend is pissing me off so much I'm willing to forego my unblemished 18 year feedback just so I can tell him to fk himself.

Some french business group has pledged 118 million, how much more money does it take :?
It's been a sad and tragic news day to say the least.

I was just going to edit :) Yeah it looks like 300 million euros now. I doubt it will cost anywhere near that amount so thankfully we won't be seeing any GoFundMe pages for Notre Dame!

Not sure man. I would expect it to need 1bn. 300m isn't that much these days.

Also don't forget the lumbar isn't just something you buy at B&Q. It'll be some super rare Amazonian type that only exists 1 day a century etc.

the real reason...
historically relics where visited by pilgrims, as the church grew bigger, in more countries, they needed relics to attract people who could travel to far off lands, because when they visited your relic they usually donated cash.
so every cathedral had to have a relic worth visiting.

no one was visiting "jesus toenail clippings from around his 9th birthday"

That is fascinating indeed. So we've no idea which one is the correct.

Essentially the Jews and Christian's collaborated and formed a joint business venture to suck money from pilgrims. The last supper was merely a board meeting :hihi:
