Thanks. Could anyone chime in on this topic? I'm pretty sure transfers are ok. SF is frequently sold here on KVR.

I bought my license second hand, but it was a couple of years ago.

Thanks!

Is it a plain key, or is the key linked to a user name?

You will receive a link to a file that is watermarked, named Sausage-Fattener-Installer-FirstName-Surname.ext (or .dmg), and when it's installed, you can see "LICENSED TO FIRSTNAME SURNAME" in the GUI.

The plugin will forever have the original buyers name on it.

This wasn't true when I bought my license second hand, because I have my name on the plugin. Maybe they have changed it to limit license transfers?

Did the previous owner inform you about a specific process? Thanks.

It was three years ago, but I managed to find the conversation. The seller emailed the developer (I guess support @ tailorednoise . com) and asked for a license transfer.

The information they needed from me (that the seller passed on) were name and email address. I then received an email from from the developer with download links.

So they bumped up the price from 29$ to 39$ and it's not possible to transfer licenses. Fair enough, it can be a hassle.

Alright, thanks for the input guys!
