Heh, actually, I never saw that. I stopped watching the Simpsons years ago for some reason.
I just naturally thought along the same lines as Homer apparently. :)

...Finally received skiff number 2 and got it all put together and working :D Yay! Took a while
due to Synthplex and whatnot.

Got the Rainmaker today (it was still in the carrier's truck yesterday afternoon). I'm still sick and have no energy, but I spent some time playing with it and it's exactly what I expected from the videos.

There are craptons of parameters to set, but the UI has lots of buttons so you can jump around quickly without being lost in nested menus. It's just a couple of minutes' work to set up a cool synchronized stereo rhythmic pitch-shifted tap thing. The pitch shifting itself is pretty crude granular but it does the job well enough. The comb filter side is simpler, but still has more features than any other comb in Eurorack and sounds better too.

I look forward to really digging into it more thoroughly when I'm over this cold.

Meanwhile I've got that Sampling Modulator due to arrive in a couple of days, and another KVGear shelf so I can line up my SQ-1, Volca Modular and 16n Faderbank all in front of the Eurorack stuff. And, unexciting as it is, a strip of dry-erase tape on the desk in front of the 16n so I can label faders :hihi:

Heh, no worries, I just got the stuff yesterday. Some of it will take a little
figuring out. For instance, the SubCon guy, is just some dude apparently,
the modules don't even come with instructions. I'm getting the hang of things
quickly though. :tu:

Put the output to the input
then you take it out...
shake it all about
find another input
and shake it about
twiddle on a fader
'till you hear Darth Vader...
in out in out... shake 'em all about.

Hope that helps... ;)

It's cool, the SubCon stuff is really excellent, hand numbered and very well made.
The guy knows what he's doing, he just assumes the same of you seemingly.
Another colorful character from deep down in the modular scene, much
like the guy I got it all from, Shawn Cleary...

SubCon is by Cevin Key of Skinny Puppy, right? I've been kind of curious about those modules just because I was such an SP fan, but really, no room in the case :D

Got the Sampling Modulator today and tooled around with it a little. It's a DIY build and one of the 3-way switches seems to need a little extra shove to turn it on, but if it gets worse, that's like the one thing I have enough competence to deal with :hihi: Kind of fun using it along with Rainmaker to clock the comb filter with rhythms while sending the main clock to the delay.
